To My Liberal Brethren: An all-purpose political statement

Dear liberal friends:

In light of current domestic and international tumult, I hereby offer my sincere hopes that all of your most favoritest political candidates win their future elections. Heck, I might even vote for a few of them.

It is my sincere hope that they all win so that they can then ultimately disappoint you, too -- the same way that conservative politicians have disappointed me and others.

If this disappointment (betrayal?) is firmly felt across ideological lines, then perhaps maybe -- just maybe -- we can start appreciating and building upon our common bonds and realize that, yes, for politicians of all stripes, Election Day was never about us.

For honesty and integrity to be such a foreign, outmoded concept in modern policy and discourse is damned disturbing.

When the next scandal comes about and you're wondering what I think about it, read this post again.
