Bill's Indian-Giving Blog Cries Wolf...or something like that.

Well, after losing interest in some other web-based projects I was sketching out, my ever-blog-closing self has decided to continue on -- after all the "this is it, this blog is closed" declarations -- with my dumb blog. Maybe I just needed a break. Maybe I just needed to see a bunch of white space, delete all of my links, and start from scratch.

Maybe it just truly needs to be a journal, if nothing else, letting friends and family hundreds and thousands of miles away know that I am actually alive. And if you have a desperate voyeuristic interest in my dealings, or want to catch me writing something you can use against me in the future, or just want something to read, I offer swell postings like these:

Man, my right foot sure hurts. I think I really fractured a bone or two in it during softball sometime either this spring, summer and/or fall. (Yes, I played in three different seasons this year.) And, oh yeah, my knee clicks every time I move it. And it often gets sore. And my foot goes numb, too. Wow.

or

I really miss getting into hockey fights like I used to.

or

I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY no longer care who hates me, and actually never really did.

or

There will probably be close to ONE MILLION PEOPLE dead as a result of the tsunami when it's all said and done. Which reminds me, politicians aren't heroes. Heroes are people who are, as we speak, up to their armpits -- starving and dehydrating and suffering from diarrhea and worse -- who are picking through water-logged rubble and rotting corpses hoping for a brief glimpse of the corpse of a loved one and holding out some desperate dream that they might find one of their loved ones alive, and more desperate still, clinging to the prayer that they will one day get back to a normal life. What's a normal life? As a result of witnessing the suffering of these people on my TV for the last few days, I am truly thankful for the mere opportunity to live even the most miserable of lives. And am even more thankful that, even with the occasional trials, my life is actually pretty good.
