We had a pretty busy weekend. We finally worked up the courage and nerve to go purchase carpet for the baby's room. We decided to do our room as well due to the price being adequate and our carpet being mostly decomposed nylon. We only went to three stores in dalton and the best oen was of course the first one. We got some remnant for a good deal also found hard wood flooring for a lot cheaper than what we paid at south eastern salvage. But hardwood though better was still too pricey for what we had in mind for both rooms.
We then spent most of the day at Hamilton place buying this and that. I picked up a sleeping bag shrink sack which I'd wanted for some time. Camping/hiking with a pack is annoying if you don't have a shrink sack. Basically you have this huge backpack that half of its contents is your sleeping bag. I also picked up a new lid for my nalgene which was needed. We then wanted to eat at OUtback but didn't want to eat at 4 PM so we went to the 2.50 and saw some terribly dumb jennifer anniston movie that had kevin costner in it. It was pretty darn bad and recommend not seeing it. We then ate otu at outback which was awesome as always. I could eat at that place almost everyday. You know they just have no rules... and it always right. its great.
My typing is really bad because at the library the have one of those tiny backspace buttons and everytime i try to backspace something i hit the button next to it. Yep still no internet. I'd get dsl if they'd update the phone lines by our house, but alas they won't. They've done most of the mtn, i'm guessing the TN side, but GA side is still without it.
We then after outback went over to sears to buy a vacuum, our 25 year old antique finally died. Well anyone who's been to sears knows they have possibly the worst sales folks ever. We were standing there looking around in obvious need of help and a good 6 salesreps were sitting there just talking to each other. Wife and I agreed they didn't want or need our business. So we went home... or at least my home away from home, Bestbuy. We found the exact vacum i wanted and for the price it was worth. Took the mother home and vacuumed like mad, its awesome. Its a Eureka Boss and consumer reports rates it one of the best vacuums around, especially for the price of a 150 bucks. There are three that are better than it according to CSR but they are all upwards of 300 bucks.
Sunday we churched, good sermon about trusting God. Need to do that. Then we came home and rested and watched the worst movie made last year. Elizabethtown is Cameron Crowe's latest attempt at jibber jabber on screen. Now he's had some luck, almost famous, say anything, jerry maquire, all worthy movies but after watching them I think he just tries to throw things on the screen that may or may not be witty and profound. I think he goes, "Ok this will either be really profound or really pointless." He hit the latter on Elizabeth town. It was like diarea on film... only it had no point. I kept yelling out in the living room, "WHEN WILL THIS FORSAKEN MOVIE END!!!?!??" and "WHY WAS THIS MOVIE MADE??" and "ORLANDO BLOOM CAN"T DO AN AMERICAN ACCENT AND SPIDER MAN"S GIRLFRIEND CAN"T DO A SOUTHERN ACCENT!!!!"
SO it was pretty awful. But overall a great weekend. I'd write more but it really stinks here in the library.
