weekend events

Well in typical Obscene Gene fashion, Pete called last night and post poned his trip till next week. No big deal for us what ever works out for him, but it left our saturday a little dull. Friday night we watched Braveheart which still impresses me. It gave a rebirth to the modern day epics. Braveheart brought back the amazing epic films and is so reminiscent to Spartacus, Ben Hur, 10 Commandments, and any other Kirk Douglas or Charlton Heston flick. Now you have at least one psuedo epicical movie a year. Gladiator, Last Samuarai, the Patriot, and Zoolander are all mere copies of the Braveheart formula for the new epic. As I watched Braveheart I was still so engrossed as ever. I remember the first time I saw it in Highschool, yes thats right, unlike nearly 99% of the covenant student body, I saw Braveheart before I even knew anything about Presbyterianism or Scottishism. I also owned the soundtrack before ever coming to covenant, all you dorks just wanted to be like me. Though I can say no other soundtrack has ever in my mind been so familiar. I don't know if anyone listens to it and just knows the whole thing by heart, but i do. Right down to the Irish Illian pipes that have nothing to do with Scotland. I still kind of shake my head when the movie shows the "outlawed tunes being played on outlawed pipes." funny those pipes don't make those tunes. Just goes to show you scotts, the irish have one upped you again. Not only did they not cave as easily to british oppresion they also have musical instruments that sound pretty and are not loud and reminescent of a fart machine. There, that should make some people angry... heh heh heh...

Today went by at a normal pace. We finished Braveheart today as we were too tired last night to finish it. I watched the Titans Ravens game over at the Trygars house, it was pretty good game though McNair was not in MVP form at all, I mean come on third and inches and he throws a long pass, what was that?? It was reminiscent of the stupidity that Mike Martz is known for. I'm thinking it will be a Patriots Super bowl, I'm not sure anyone has the skills to take them, though I don't like them at all. sorry to end this but i have a big head ache and need to go
