MUST CHANGE SUBJECT, PULL FOOT OUT OF MOUTH.
Well things are ho humming right along in life. Work is work, and after work is the same as alway. One new event is that the wife and I are gearing up for a diet. We waited some time for the New Years Resolution window to close so that we don't fall victim to the demise of another resolution. Wifey got the book on the South Beach diet and after reading it has deemed it acceptable and doable. I don't really care as long as I eat. For those who aren't hip on the diet world, South Beach is similar to the Atkins diet with two major differences. 1. On the South Beach you don't have to give up nearly as much food choices as you do on Atkins. You can eat some carbs and pretty much any vegetable you want. Certain things are totally off limits like Bagels and pasta but such is the life. 2. The second major difference is unlike Atkins you don't pig out on high fat foods like beef and cheese. You still have to eat healthy sticking to vegetables and high proteen low fat meats like chicken, pork, and fish. It doesn't sound too too too bad since we kind of eat like that any way. We hardly ever eat red meat and cutting back on the carbs will be a good thing i think. Thats another thing, with South Beach after the first two weeks of no carbs you can slowly incorporate some carbs into your diet, basically you could have one day every other week of some serious pasta. The hardest part will be giving up Beer, and no i have no intention of getting that Michelob Ultra crap. I'll just stick to the finer alcohol, wine, which is allowd. I'm just determined that something has to be done about my lbs. I don't exercise anymore, don't have the time to as I did as a student, I mean i go home and its dark and I can't afford to pay the gym fees and covenant is 45 minutes away almost.
Plus I've come to the conclusion that people today, especially in America, don't need high carb diets. Back in the oldend days people needed their breads, tortillas, rices, and potatos to give them the strength and energy to work out in the fields or do the heavy labor that was required of them back then. I mean people walked every where back in the day, now we don't even like to walk to the TV to turn the channel. So it seems as our habits of lifestyle have changed so should our eating habits. Its either that or we exercise to compensate for 8 hours of sitting at a desk all day where the only exercise you get is a few clicks of the mouse. So i realize that something has to change, and since its too cold to run right now and I get home at dark I figure its the diet. Eventually I'll try to work in the old exercise routine, but until then lets hope the diet can shed some pounds. Otherwise I'm screwed and I might as well just become Jaba the Hutt, move out to the Desert, get me some of them frogs, and a big Rancor pit--complete with real rancor, and throw me some parties. Hmm... that doesn't sound half bad...
