Digital Resume

Now that I know my "day job" is going away, I am working on my resume and getting my name out there. I will be hitting the major online job sites, and Mike graciously sent me a tip about a web design job open at a local communications company which I'll be applying for shortly. In a computer-driven world, I decided that it makes sense to have an online resume. So last night I put one together, and here it is. I'll be tweaking the content, but overall I'm pretty pleased.

Thanks to everyone who has given me encouragement in dealing with this tough situation. I appreciate it very much.

Are you looking for a job specifically in Chatta, or just anywhere?

Yeah, specifically Chattanooga, mainly because I want to go back to college next fall at Covenant. I like Atlanta a good bit, and I know the job market is better there, but I'd rather not move back and then have my college plans be up in the air again.

Having been in the atlanta job market for 7+ months, I must say that even though there are jobs, I don't think anyone is hiring. After having sent out close to 1000 resume's to companies in the atlanta area, the only thing I have to show for it is 1 job interview, and a cluttered 'sent' box. I *wish* I had stayed in Chattavegas, and gotten a job there.

The right content on your resume' overlaps the left column in Opera on the PC, and in Firebird/mozilla on the PC it is bumped to the bottom of the left column. Might want to tweak that unless you know potential employers will be using IE.

Strange, I'm using Opera on a PC myself and it works just fine. Thanks for the tip, though. I'll see what I can do.

Looks fine now. Did you change it, or was my browser just sick or something? Using 7.2 beta...

I added a margin-left to the right column, wide enough to keep it from overlapping the left column. This also served to keep it from being pushed to below the left column unless the browser width is too small (less than 670px).

Yeah, my site gets bumped down if you look at it with a small window too. Except I think it does it on 800x600 at full screen, so I should probably make it a little more narrow or something. Mine only has that problem in IE though. All of my CSS problems are only in IE actually. Why do people use IE again??
