Anarchists for Kerry

No, seriously, there was a kid out waving signs for Kerry today who had some homemade anti-Bush slogan sign in one hand and a sign with nothing but an anarchy symbol in the other. Now, it's good that the kid has some sort of political interest, but I'd think that the other Kerry people who were out wouldn't want him waving around an anarchy symbol, it's not exactly good PR for Kerry when a little goth kiddie who wants anarchy is supporting him. So, are we supposed to conclude that a vote for Kerry is a vote for anarchy? Because if we are, I think that's precisely the opposite idea the campaign wants to get across to voters.

Just goes to show what's wrong with the current generation. All of their views come from the commercialized, major label, pre-packaged forms of rebellion, and they don't even know how to rebel against the establishment anymore. The sort of kid who thinks that voting for Kerry (and establishment guy if I ever saw one) is a good anarchist thing to do is probably the same sort of kid who thinks Avril Lavign is punk, Ashley Simpson is rock, and that Good Charlotte is hard core metal.

Yeah, that and my biggest pet peeve--the t-shirt that is made to look worn out.

The problem is that now you have "cool hunters" who go and look at what people are wearing on the street and then figure out a way to turn them into commodities (ruining the authentic trend), and then you have a bunch of posers walking around thinking they're cool when all they have is what was fed to them by highly paid marketers. The goth kiddies fall into that category, thinking that they are original and standing out, but once you have stores like Hot Topic, you aren't original you're just another lemmning following a crowd.
