For those of you who don't remember, Katherine Harris was the Florida Secretary of State during the 2000 election, and is now a US Representative. This sounds like something out of the Onion, but on Tuesday, a guy who is obviously supporting her opponent tried to run her down with his car, and said of his actions "I was exercising my political expression!" and "I did not run them down, I scared them a little!" Now, where I come from, driving your car over the curb and directly at someone who is on the sidewalk waving campaign signs, only to swerve at the last minute isn't just trying to scare them a little, it's assult with a deadly weapon, and that is what the guy was charged with. This whole election season has been bizarre, and this just adds to it.
