Of the Father’s love begotten, ere the worlds began to be,

yesterday i was going down the stairs to my car so i could go to the evening session of the jordan conference. my hands were full of cookies (the pastor's wife asked me to bring some for the break) and i was going a little faster than i normally do because i was already 15 mintues late. well....i lost my balance and fell. i knew what was happeneing and acutally said something as i was falling and the next thing i know i layin in the grass feeling like i can't move. a jeep cherroke passes right about that time and they don't even stop. :( anywho, i'm pretty sore and i think i'm going to have to miss the last lecture of the conference tonight. plus i think i just need some rest. it'll be a long day tomorrow if i'm sleepy and hurting.

the world of fine art
for some reason tonight i got to thinking about the fine arts class in high school. here are some of my favorite paintings. more to be added. in fact there is one statue that i remember looking at (we looked at slides of different works pretty much every day) and somehow "got caught up" in the emotion of the things that were represented in it. it was michelangelo's pieta. my teacher talked about how the the different "features" of the sculpture showed about mary and what they meant. the large size of her lap by the folds of her skirt stands for her strength; the way she clutches on to her dead child with her right hand symbolizes her love for him all the while she is still showing her submission to God the Father with her left. it makes me feel with the same "passion" that i feel when i hear music. the artchive

dr jordan i pressume?
Dr. James Jordan is going to be at my church this coming weekend for those of you that are in the area. the title of the conference is "The Book of Revelation and Building Christendom." There will be sessions Friday evening, September 27, 6:30 - 9:00 with a lecture and Q& A time; Saturday, September 28 with sessions at 10:00, 11:30a and 6:30p. Sunday morning, September 29, Dr. Jordan will speaking during Sunday school (9:30) and preaching the sermon in worship (10:30). The conference will conclude Sunday evening with another lecture and Q & A time from 6 - 7:00.

i'm spending the next 3 nights at my parent's house while they're out of town. tv, cable modem, no stairs to climb....what more could you want?
news from the job front
today i talked to the lady that i interviewed and she told me that they were going to start doing a background check and for me to take a drug test (darn i shouldn't have shot up last night :) ) and if all was good then she would give me an offiicial offer. i'm so excited!

how 'bout dem dawgs?
louisiana tech bulldawgs (my alma mater) slaughtered university of tulsa this afternoon in a 53-9 win. it was the first conference game for either clubhouse and the dawgs came out on top.

well i did it. i finally did it. after living alone for 6 weeks i finally got the courage to watch silence of the lambs. i was scared to watch it at first because of the way it freaked me out just a couple of years ago. it didn't do too much damage because last night when i was trying to go to sleep i was thinking more about the bugs i've seen in my apartment in the past week.
i guess i was more patient than i thought
i held the button for only 5 minutes which was longer than 30% of all button holders.
voices
there is one thing about the monroe church that i envy them of....their vocal talent. i was at a bible study with some "auburners" tonight and with only 12 people we sounded pretty darn good (in my opinion). i'll go ahead and admit that sometimes when i go to church there on sunday evenings i enjoy the singing just as much as the preaching. i would go crazy if i were deaf and couldn't hear the beautiful hymns and psalms coming from the people of God.

music is so amazing.
i was coming home last night from bible study in monroe and i switched my radio to npr just for the fact that i hadn't listened to it in a while and i knew that nocturnes was on. i was in just a normal mood and the music that i was hearing made me feel emotions that i can't even describe. maybe like a happy, giddy, peaceful feeling. then i was watching a movie today and the way that they (the movie makers) put the music in that takes me through the emotions that i go through when watching certain parts of the movie.

my sister sent me some pictures of my nephew today. he went for his four month check up last week (his birthday is april 27) and he's 15 pounds and 27 inches long! he's so cute too. i pray that he may become a part of the covenant one day.
