As you can probably tell I've been tinkering a little more with my blog. I'm a little obsessive so I'm sure that the tinkering will continue. Just keep watching for updates.
In other news, yesterday I got more hits on my blog than any other day since I started tracking statistics. What's odd about this is that I didn't even make a new entry yesterday. Why, you might ask, would anyone visit this blog unless they saw on Chattablogs that I had posted a new entry? Well, it appears from looking at the referrers to my site that there are a lot of people looking for audio and video of Ozzy Osbourne singing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" and my blog ranks pretty high when you search for such things. So if you are here to find out about Ozzy Osbourne singing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" then go here and don't be afraid to leave a comment. [Yes that was a shameless attempt to get more hits on my blog].
The tracker that is on my blog tracks search engine referrals to my blog. This means that it tracks what people were searching for when they found my blog. It is interesting to watch and see how people found me. The interesting thing is that I have gotten more hits from my inability to spell than anything else. In one of my previous posts, More Kobe News, I misspelled Kobe's last name. Instead of "Bryant" I mistakenly typed "Bryan." I first realized my spelling error when I saw a search engine referall with the mispelling in it. I promptly changed the spelling on the post, but it has not stopped people from finding me with this mispelling. Apparently there are a lot of people out there who can't spell or who just don't know what Kobe's last name really is. Whatever the reason, I have gotten most of my search engine referalls from people looking for information on "Kobe Bryan".
Maybe I should mispell things more often. I get more traffic that way.
I think that I solved my problem. I have also played with the format of my page a little bit. I'm still tinkering and will fix some more when I find more time.
So what was the solution? Through process of elimination I figured out that when I removed the top and bottom border on my blog body I started getting the shifting. I still don't understand why but I have learned with code that you don't always get to know the answer why. You just fix it and move on. However, if anyone knows why this happens I would be glad to hear from you. It still annoys me.
I realize that there are still a couple of problems with the layout that I am trying to fix. The text on the left side extends past its borders so it cuts off some letters. This should be easy to fix.

Help! I don't know what is happening. My blog seems to be sliding off the left side of the screen. If you scroll down the page you will see it for yourself. You will notice that some of the text is sliding out of its space. I don't know why this is happening. I have looked at my main index and my stylesheet and I can't find the problem. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. I am hyper-anal about things like that and it is really bothering me. Please help.
I've added Categories to my blog so that I (and anyone else) can track the things that I am talking about. I went back through and added categories to all of my past posts to see where they fit in. You can now find the list of categories on the sidebar and the list of the last few posts under that category there as well.
Just in case anyone cares.
Josiah has installed a new Moveabletype plugin at my request. This plugin obfuscates the email address that is attached to the name of the person commenting on my blog. This makes it considerably less likely for an email harvester to pull out email addresses for the purposes of spamming. Hopefully this will make everyone feel safer about posting. However, this may cause problems for those of you using browsers that are not javascript enabled. If this is a problem for too many people, please let me know and I will remove the plugin.
