So I watched Tomb Raider last night, trying to decide if the first one was good enough to merit viewing the sequel. And the answer is a resounding, "No."
Please don't think I am being hard on my sex. Being 22, single, and presbyterian, I have a good dose of headstrong femininity. I was all excited about a girlie action movie. I love Charlie's Angels. But let's face it. Tomb Raider was a cheap ripoff of all the classic moments from Indiana Jones, and they were wimpy girly ripoffs to boot.
And Angelina Jolie isn't nearly as much fun to look at as Harrison Ford.
Some new cinematic information:
I just finished the 1st season of 24, a feat which at one point involved me climbing through a window late at night, Jack Bauer style. Season 2 is due out on DVD on September 13.
If you have not yet viewed the 4-disk super size Fellowship of the Ring extravaganza, I highly recommend it. There will be no more complaining about what the movie left out after seeing this exposition.
And though she is not a cinematic note, Moriah Phillips is a very nice person and is now blogging. Go say hi.
Wow. A blog that's pretty and that works! I need to award major snaps to Josiah for the space and initial blogging work and to Shannon for the fabulous design. Ponder anew what Shannon could do for your blog one day.
So after having a 9:25 p.m. flight out of Dallas cancelled b/c not enough people were on it (damn you, Delta) and an unexpected journey to Jackson, MS, I'm home.
Moscow was a blast and a half. Zume is an incredible eatery, Bucers makes fabulous italian sodas, and they actually do have Vanilla Coke up there, you just have to look for it.
And in other news, I turned down the job.
The screensaver on the computer in my bedroom up here shows a constant slide show of pictures. Roughly every 3rd one is of Remy and Bethany kissing.

I thought you guys were just kidding about the sweet tea thing. But when you want tea up here, they serve you NesTea. In a bottle.
And there is no whole milk within the city limits of Moscow.
But it's 42 degrees here, I have had the window open all day, and there are no bugs.
And Bethany's mom is the best.
There is no way I can make this decision.
So I went to the bakery today and worked a 14 hour shift. I had to throw away an entire cake batter, I have not seen a carbonated beverage in 48 hours, I cried twice, my feet are KILLING me, and you are not allowed to listen to The Monkees in the kitchen.
But damn, I look sexy in that hat.
It appears that for 2 weeks out of July I will be in Moscow, Idaho, on a working vacation to see if I would be the right person to become the new cake baker at Zume.
Crazy.
And so, if anyone has any Moscow advice, or potential hypothetical roommate advice, or flying advice (see the 51 things), bring it on.
And for the love of Pete, can anyone tell me how I'm supposed to get my stuff up there if I go? Because I am really strongly attached to my furniture.
