Things That Make You Go "Hmmmm"

Why do they air the State of the Union address on 30 different channels? I think that it's something that should be televised, but not on every single channel. Geez.

During the little bit of the State of the Union Address that I actually watched, I noticed that there was a lot of clapping and cheering going on at times that I wouldn't have thought to clap. Do they have one of those applause signs that lights up when they want you to clap?

And could somebody please send Bush back to elementary school and teach him how to pronounce words correctly? Nothing annoys me more than when someone mispronounces a word. Posted by sabrina at January 20, 2004 10:10 PM | TrackBack

I hear that. Grammar is big on my list. And yeah, why is he on every channel? I mean shouldn't we as free people have the right to decide whether or not we watch him?

I think people just clap at any break in the bullshit coming out of his mouth. Feh.

When the President's on TV (for whatever reason) it always reminds me of a Jeff Foxxworthy joke. It's back in the day when you only had 3 or 4 channels and they were all the big ones we have now (abc, cbs, nbc, etc.) and he cried out in frustration..."The President's on! He's on every channel! We're gunna miss Flipper!"

I'm just not sure where I stand on it all!

My biggest frustration was that the President used the state of the union address more as reelection campaign tool than as an opportunity to inform the country of how things were going.

I also grew tired of his nearly two dozen reference to September 11th. As if, somehow, we need to be reminded what happened that day. (And that he uses that event - which happened on his watch - for his own political gain is dispicable).

And the drug testing in public schools, the abstinance-only teaching, as well as going easy on criminals who enlist in faith-based programs only further cememted my opinion that this guy is so far to the right that he is out of touch with the average American. Hmmm, I wonder if his daughters are virgins and/or use birth control?

In regards to Denny's question... "Hmmm, I wonder if his (Bush) daughters are virgins and/or use birth control?"

If his daughters are virgins... than Madonna is Mother Teresa. :)

As far as him being on every channel... IMHO, I think that's unnecessary. One channel is enough, they ought to have a Channel like PRZ, and everyone who wanted to watch/hear him, could turn to it. :) Sounds like a good idea to me. :ş
