Some New Music Worth Buying
When I'm able to scrounge up enough pennies to afford a new CD or two I think I'm going to purchase one or two of the following:
Queens of the Stone Age: Songs for the Deaf. I've only heard one track, but it's pretty phenominal what Dave Grohl accomplishes on the drums. I think the disc might be worth the price just for that (it's rare these days for real solid drumming to displayed, even in rock music). So when's that big check coming from the California State Lottery? ...oh, er, that's right...I don't play the lottery.A CD I'll purchase for sure at some point is Cold Play's new one: A Rush of Blood to the Head. I had their first one (Parachutes), and it was a very strong album; from what I've heard this new one is yet a major improvement on the first.
Radiohead is in the studio, so new material from them is welcomed greatly.
I'm excited too about the posthumous release by Jeff Buckley, called: Songs to No One, although some of the reviews are less than positive.
now what?

Posted by: Toshikazu at October 31, 2002 01:05 PMDoes Dave Grohl play for Queens of the Stoneage, or just for the album? I saw Foo Fighters and Queens of the S. opened. Good show. Grohl is one of my favorite drummers. Straightforward, simple, and good.

You've got me on that one-- I'm not sure if he's a stand-in or an actual part of the band.
Simple? Maybe the rest of the album, but if you listen to the drums for the song that is currently getting so much airplay on KROQ, what he's doing is quite elaborate and difficult.
But yes, Dave Grohl has proved to be a very talented music man.
Posted by: jeremy at November 1, 2002 01:22 PMJer,
I need a fill for my nails, my hair done and a pedicure as well. I also need something different to wear every single day of our honeymoon, with corresponding matching gloves and hats (or beanies). Thanks.
Your lovely bride,
Katherine.
Oh, and don't forget that I too will need something different to wear every single day of your honeymoon as I chaperone you two kids (and I'll give you a break on the corresponding gloves and hats or beanies.... that's just the kind of guy that I am). Thanks.
Your Dashing Chaperone,
Wayne-oh
I'd like to thank Chris for making me a very thoughtful and great compilation CD that included tracks from the new Jeff Buckley release, and a few from Queens of the Stone Age. He added several tracks towards the end of the disc (to fill space) and ironically, the music he added I actually have been enjoying more than the music I mentioned in the original post.
he added music from a band out of San Diego called "Pinback" (or something like that)... their music is reminiscent of classic Cure with a sort of Echo and the Bunnymen vocal-- I really like it. Chris also added a Christian rock band called Pedro the Lion-- impressive.
Thanks Chris. I owe you one.

Jeremy, did the frog in your pocket finally get a name?
I see that Kate is on a rampage today. Don't worry, Jer, it's not just you :-).
