I did a bad bad thing. Yesterday I saw, I bought, I played. Wifey and I headed out to the local shopping establishment here in Chattacountry, she needed some makeup and a desired a new outfit for work. I on the other hand was determined to not let my childhood diminish despite the fact that I'm 23, out of college, and married. Yes friend of friends I bought a video game, however it doesn't stop there. I was determined to buy Medal of Honor Spearhead, the add on to the classic game Medal of Honor. I find the series one of the most engrossing to play and its like playing the movie Saving Private Ryan, without the feeling of being controlled by Steven Speilburg. Well I was happy to find that the game was only 10 $. I traded in an old game of mine which gave me 25 $ store credit, which meant i still had 15 $ in store credit left, I couldn't very well let this credit go to waste sitting in my pocket for weeks upon weeks so I bought yet another game... Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. Some of you may say Chris, how'd your wife let you do this? Well my friends being married involves a lot of give and take... and it was my turn to take.
Any who now that wifey has endless sources of realestate info she's been gathering info on houses in the area in our price range so that we may leave this apartmentdom and gain some equity in the form of a housing purchase. Our main areas of interest are the North Georgia area being that property taxes are cheaper, sales taxes are cheaper, and the schools are predominately better which translates into better resale value on the house. Its hard to find anything though as most of North GA houses are shacks in the woods with banjo players sitting on the porch and confederate flags in their windows or shacks on the streets with various undriveable autos on their lawns or a combination of both of those scenarios. We found a few houses that were really cute or nice but the people next door were strait out of the movie Deliverance. Also I've found that the Chattanooga area has no systematic plan of development. This is obvious when you drive downtown and see every road being worked on at the same time. The same goes for the housing market, there are hardly any subdivisions in the Chattanooga area and the few that exist are rediculously planned or priced. So the search continues. We also are looking North of Chattanooga but nothing of interest has popped up on our radar screen. North Chattanooga itself is a really cool area of town however it is rediculously over priced for the amount of house you end up purchasing. Plus its also in the Hamilton County School district which is itself a mess. One hill over is Red Bank which is a nice area but its hard to find good neighborhoods.
Wifey watched the Miss America pagenant last night, for some odd reason she was really into it. She has become the little seemstress sewing things together making various handbags and purses. She's quite good except when she pokes herself with a needle.
I watched one of my birthday presents yesterday, The Rescuers Down Under. Wifey gave me that as a gift for my 23rd Bday. It is perhaps one of the few Disney movies I've ever really enjoyed. One summer I went up to Maine to live with a friend of mine and his family. In Maine, at least this part of Maine, they did not get any sort of TV reception so we relied upon movies that they owned and rented for our entertainment on rainy days. Well, being children we felt it was a traditional mandate that we watch cartoons on Saturday morning, and since there was no TV reception we relied upon the VHS copies of cartoons they had, the only one we liked however was The Rescuers Down Under. We watched it every Saturday morning for monthes and any time it was raining. We memorized that film adn could've recited each line to you perfectly. And the story is such a cool and relatable meaning I as a child could relate to the boy in the cartoon. The boy befriends this giant golden eagle Terrahuete after the boy frees him (the eagle) from a poachers trap. The Poacher knows the boy knows where the giant eagle's nest is after seeing the boy with one of the bird's golden feathers. So the Poacher kidnaps the boy and thats where the rescuers come in. Its got a great cast of Bob Newhart as Bernard and Eva Gabore (Tsa Tsa's sister) as Bianca they are the two rescuers. The movie also stars Patton or should I say George C. Scott as the Poacher who does a good job of portraying an evil but funny poacher bent on nothing but profit and destruction. It was so exciting to see the movie again and I can honestly say it is still as exciting as it was 10 years ago. I recommend it to anyone who likes cartoons, Australia, or naturalist/environmentalist ideology disguised in children's cartoons.
The housing market in the entire Chattanooga region seems a bit overpriced compared to the job market, and North Chattanooga is probably the worst offender. Good luck with your search. Since your wife is on the inside of the real estate universe you might be able to find just the right place and grab it quickly before word gets out. :)

I watched the Miss America. I was real bummed when Miss Hawaii (Kanoelani Gibson) did not win. People here, by the way, really wear flowers in their hair, and hers was probably artificial.
