Have You Done This?: Selling Cds at McKay's

Tonight I am ripping cds to sell at McKay's tomorrow...I do this every once in a while. The advent of mp3's has allowed me to a) buy a cd, b) get bored with it, c) convert the cd to mp3's on my computer, and d) sell the cd at McKay's.

The guy at McKay's will often go, "Woa! Why are you selling this?" Then, I feel ashamed.

But I'll get over it...And one way to get over it is to, um, buy more CDs with the money I made from the ones I just, um, sold....

Hey, is that a DJ Shadow album over there? Didn't I used to have that?

The vicious cycle of a music addict...

the worst is when you forget to rip them before you sell them. I had a bunch of phish albums that I cant find anywhere, so I'm assuming they made it to mckay, but cant find them on the drive either.

Isn't that kind of illegal? Call me a stickler, but burning cds, then selling them, that sounds like a copy right infringement to me. You can talk to roe, I'm one of those wacko freaks that thinks you should abide to the letter of the law when it comes to copy right even if it means eraing (erroring??? you're the editor not me) on the side of safety. Just call me ned flanders, okaly dokaly.

RIPPING, then selling...
1. I buy the CD.
2. I copy the songs to my computer.
3. I sell the CD to a used CD store.

This plan just occured to me a week or two ago, and I'm pretty excited about it. I should have at least ten cds to sell, maybe more. Not sure how many that will buy me, but it should be fun!
