I got to shop at Albertson's today and I must say, it was delightful. You see, I almost always shop at Walmart because it is really close to my house and it is much more cost efficient than most other places. But I needed to pick up some groceries today, and since I was in that area of town, I decided to treat myself to Albertson's. The beautiful thing about Albertson's is I can go in, get what I need, spend as much or as little time as I want to (unlike at Walmart, where the time I spend there is dictated by other shoppers blocking isles and purchasing 50 items in the express lane), and I can leave the store without getting mad. Ever. Not once. The difference in the shopping experience is unbelievable...but so is the price. I think my $50 Albertson's purchase would have been less than $40 at Walmart. I guess that's why I go back to Walmart. Someday though, when I hit the big time, I too, will be a happy, friendly, patient Albertson's shopper.

Posted by: Jeannette at August 30, 2003 08:22 PMAlbertson's is a great store. So is Publix. Do you have Publix stores in your area? They ROCK!
Posted by: Rus at August 30, 2003 10:45 PMI went to Albertsons on Friday and it was so much fun. I bought shrimp and the guy behind the meat counter had a huge smile on his face and was so helpful. It made me smile and happy to be grocery shopping! I love Albertsons and if you shop their sales- they really aren't too bad. Even pretty good sometimes.
Posted by: Lisa Huntington at August 31, 2003 05:08 PMAlbertson's is my special getaway. When Patrick comes home from work, I leave the kids with him, and retreat into the super air conditioned, mellow music playing, smiley faced, food heaven.
I know that's a little weird.
Posted by: Shannon at September 1, 2003 11:26 AMHey Shannon, Albertsons is MY retreat! You need to go on down to the Piggly Wiggly cause we can't share a retreat. It would be pointless an embarrassing.
Posted by: Patrick at September 1, 2003 11:42 AMYOU go to the Piggly Wiggly. It smells funny in there.
Posted by: Shannon at September 1, 2003 01:17 PMNo way, YOU go to the Piggly Wiggly!
Posted by: Patrick at September 1, 2003 01:30 PMWe'll continue this at home, Mister.

Posted by: SonofThunder at September 3, 2003 08:24 AMBesides the quality selection and knowledgable help, my favorite part about Albertson's is that 3 carts can walk abreast down any given aisle.
Posted by: the booth at September 3, 2003 10:28 PMOne more thing, they don't generally feel that the middle of the afternoon is the best time to restock.
Posted by: the booth at September 3, 2003 10:29 PMI use to like Publix but I have been reformed.
