As of four p.m., I'll be on vacation. Since this was the first year I wasn't in school, this is the first summer that I haven't had a real summer vacation. I guess this is what it's like to be a grown up: no 3 month summer break, no month off in winter, no spring break. A mere two weeks of vacation (plus a few bank holidays here and there) are all I get. Not that I'm complaining...I mean I do get paid to go on vacation: a concept that was completely foreign to me back in my student/waitressing days. I just have to be much more selective about when I take off. I guess it makes me appreciate vacation more.
Anyway, 2 of my friends will be here tomorrow and we'll spend some time here in the lovely Monroe metroplex, then we're off to New Orleans for a few days.
Now, if I can make it through the rest of the day at work....

Posted by: dp at July 25, 2003 12:53 PMYeah, but that would involve teaching, which I wouldn't mind if it weren't for the students.
Posted by: Christin at July 25, 2003 01:36 PMHave a good vacation! I'm excited about having teacher summer breaks for awhile...

Posted by: dp at July 28, 2003 09:28 AMWhats the word on Karokee (sp?).
Posted by: svenska at July 28, 2003 11:22 AMkaraoke? as in you singing to a pop song with out the lyrical track?
Posted by: dp at July 28, 2003 01:30 PMTroy, I still haven't found out if they're having karaoke tonight. I'll call you as soon as I know.
And dp: yes. Singing and actin' a fool in front of all your friends is every bit as fun as it sounds...once a year anyway.
i know it is, but it was the poor quality of svenska's/troy's spelling that baffled me, not the idea that someone would actually attempt karaoke, as im sure it is fun once a year or more combined with supplemental alcohol.
