My Guy Ty

I got to talk to Ty and Jess last night. Collectively they are some of Lang and my closest friends. As many of you know, they are expecting a little Willison in February. Some of you may have heard a rumor that they are moving back to Chattavegas. Well folks, the rumor is true. The Willison's are coming home!! They plan on being back at the beginning of next summer. So, now we just need to get the Hancock's & Gosey's back home...

Alive and Well

Hello out there, to the few folks who might read my blog. I apologize for my absence. I don't have any good reasons for not blogging, just some lame excuses.

Important update as follows: Yes, the rumor is true. Lang and I have signed a contract on a house and we hope to close on September 15th. The house is on St Elmo Avenue, right next to the Dodson's pink house, two doors down from St Elmo Presbyterian Church. It is a little 1,500 sq foot yellow house with 3 bedrooms. We won't be moving in for quite some time because there is a lot of work to be done. Our contractor, Ethan Collier, is super great and he is working with our plans. Lang, Meg, and I are going to be doing most of the demolition which includes ALL of the ceielings and two walls. We are relocating the kitchen and bathroom. Lang has big and fun plans which include a Japanese style bathroom. I said no to the Squattie Potty idea but we will have an interesting shower/bathtub area that you are going to have to ask Lang about because I don't know how to explain it. I am working on plans for the kitchen. This is a very exciting and very scary step for the Martin household. We will be having various work days in the future and I will keep ya'll posted...

We finally completed the wedding marathon summer.

Chris & Megan got hitched last weekend and the week before that I was in Oregon for a high school friends wedding. Isaac Wardell and friends did the music at the reception for Christ & Megan, which as usual was a fabulous show. Several of us danced our legs off and had a blast. There are only two more weddings that I know of in the near future. Jackson Alexander & Grace Halverson in October and Lisa Riley in January. I am glad the summer is over, it is nice to stay home on the weekends.

I saw an incredible documentary a couple of days ago. I am sure ya'll have already seen it - "Bowling for Columbine". If you haven't it is very well done and should spark great discussion.

More next time...
