Extra Sweet

I am back from wedding # 6 of the summer... only 2 more left. John Sweet's wedding was great. I was albe to have some quality girl time with Jane, Anglea, & Anna. I realized how much I have missed girl time. This summer has been full of great conversations with really great guys. I didn't realize that I hadn't had any great conversations with girls almost all summer, because all of the weddings we have gone to have been Lang's friends. We laughed a lot, drank a lot of beer, and had great talks.

Angela's parents house was amazing it was built in the early 1800's and had really great nooks and weird space. Her grandparent's are antique dealers and specialized in early American antiques, so the house was full of neat stuff, that I kept noticing for the first time as the weekend went on. The wedding was in a dairy farm/ corn field. There were some hay barrels for the guests to sit on and a willow arbor they got married under made by their friend Kim Demmick. The reception had lots of organic tomatoes and of course Zingermans bread. The cake was unbeliveable. Their friend from Zingerman's made a 5 tiered cake with each of the tiers on multi-leveled tree stumps decorated with fall flowers. Brent & Peg Rustand lit off fireworks at some point during the reception, and the conversations went into the wee hours of the night. I would probably rate the event in the top 3 weddings of the summer.

Other news: Lang, Meg (Lang's sister who lives with us), and I are making an offer tonight on the house we want to buy. This, of course, is very exciting news... however I am trying to keep a level head and not get too excited. If all goes well we may be home owners in our little fixer-upper in a few months. We will need lots of help with painting/demolition... I will keep all of you Chattanoogan's posted.

Also, Kiko is back in town. She flew in on Thursday and surprised us a few days ahead of schedule. For those of you who don't know the scoop, Kiko is not an American citizen and her student visa ran out. She left the states and went to the Philipians where her parents were. At the last minute, she had arranged to go back to UTC for the graduate program in Criminal Justice. Miraculously, she was able to prove she had access to a lot of money, score well on the GRE, get accepted into the program, get her visa renewed at the embassy in the Phillipians, & make it through US customs. There was a coming home party for her last night. WELCOME HOME KIKO!!!

Michigan

I have never been to Michigan or any part of the contry surrounding Michigan. I am thrilled. Tomorrow morning at about 5 am, Ben & Jane Harper, Isaac Wardell and I are leaving for the 11 hour drive. John Sweet and Angela Youell's are getting married on Saturday in Ann Arbor. I am excited about this wedding and this trip. I think it will be a great time of fellowship and celebration. One of the best things is that I am getting paid to leave... Benefits are a wonderful thing.

Out of the Closet

I have been secretly reading other peoples blogs for 3 months now. I have occasionallly made small comments but mainly I really enjpoy finding out what is going on in the thoughts and lives of people whom I love. My husband Lang and I talked about us sharing a blog but Josiah thought that would be an excuse for Lang to stop blogging. So, I got my own and here it is. I am really looking forward to this...
