Cards Braves 08

So I made it to three of the four games this year in Atlanta. I went monday with wifey and got to see Molina's in side the park home run... well it was a triple with a throwing error, but still he's a catcher theres no reason he should even have a triple. That game was by far the best.

Tuesday was ok, little rainy but it was more just a matter of the braves playing terrible that allowed the cards to win, that and Pujols jackin a homer and stealing third. Again, there is no reason Pujols should be able to steal third as slow as he is. I mean second maybe, but third... Corky Miller was playing catcher, what with his .096 batting average. I think that game proved that he is not a strong backup, as Clint Sammons was brought up monday and is hitting above .500 already... 6 at bats but still. Corky was demoted thankfully to the minors.

Wednesday I had to stay home but went again on Thursday. But there was tons of lightening and rain so I ended up going home a few innings early, that and the game was getting out of hand with the braves tearing up Jimenez.

Also I don't think turner's hotdogs are as good as busch stadiums, just throwing that out there. Turner's are huge but the buns are hard and as i recall i think Busch has steamed buns, gotta love those steamed buns.

Cards Braves

Its that time of year again. Yep time to go to 3 of the four cardinals vs braves games. I made it to three last year, one in my company's box, very nice, one with a friend in the upper decks, and one with some friends from chatty at the Chop house.

This week I'll be upper deck tonight with Janelle, Upper Deck tomorrow with a friend from Macon, and thursday night with my neigbhors. Going to be a good series. I'm kind of hoping the braves get pounded so they'll realize they need to trade Texiera. He's a great player and it would be awesome if he could be added as a life long Brave, but he's a boras guy and wants to go where the $$$ are. He hasn't even made any real attempt to sort of say he'd love to stay a brave, which I kind of appreciate, least he's upfront.

I think the Cards are pretty much out of the race. I think if Carpenter and Wainwright could have come back in early July (granted carp's playing Wednesday) and contributed it might be a different story. But I think with the brew crew and cubs teams I think they have a good headstart and what will probably happen is the cards will give them a run for their money but fall short at the end.

There's nothing in the cupboard to trade for rockies Fuentes, and there is nothing really else available in the marketplace. They have a decent bullpen its just not performing this year. I think Mozeliak is smart, and doesn't want to mortgage too much of the future, and wants to restock the pantry.
