Thoughts from Jeannette on September 1, 2003 10:31 AMThere's no excuse for a modem these days, much less a crappy one.
Thoughts from Matthew Pearson on September 1, 2003 02:34 PMi got a DSL LAN
a megabit per second
wit da wireless hooked up
eight-o-two-dot-eleven
i ripped my modem out
and i gave it away
i'm like an escalade
on the info highway
hey the first one of you guys that wants to pay for an upgrade from my modem is welcome to do it! ha!
Thoughts from Shannon on September 1, 2003 07:27 PMWaaaayyyy back in the day I figured out a way to craft a packet of information in such a way that even though it looked like a bunch of numbers to a person it was actually a "shut off" code for the modem. So I could literally knock people off the internet at will. I wonder if by sheer coincidence this page has somehow come up with the right combination of bytes such that it is doing it to you modem users.
Thoughts from mkrueger on September 2, 2003 10:48 AMHey, I'm completely ignorant of any such code, but I'll be glad to know if I am the cause of glitchy telephony and how to fix it. I'm just excited someone reads my baby posts. Baby momma will be excited too!
Thoughts from cmwillis on September 4, 2003 08:09 PMYeah, ~sigh~ I tried to read it again, and I got knocked off. I don't know how you'd fix it, if it's something in your code. Anybody out there have a suggestion on how to identify and fix the prob?
