Academic Advancement

What I miss most about college is being able to look outside on a gorgeous day like today and make an executive decision not to go to class at all. That doesn't work so well at the office.

Yeah, they really frown upon skipping work. What's that all about? We should be allowed a few "I don't feel like working today" days.

Yeah. You can't even pull off a good "fake sick" day if every single one of your fellow employees live within a three block radius.

Aren't the "I don't feel like working" days called "personal" days? Sure, they may give them to you so you can go to funerals and such, but can they blame you for taking care of your psychological well-being? That's personal.

Yeah. No personal days here. (No sick days either, for that matter). Lunch breaks are considered gracious.

At my office, you practically have to bring your dead relative by the office to prove they're dead in order to get a personal day.

I just take my paperwork outside on days like that.
