Last Day in Valpo

I've spent all day running around, and finished the evening with a vigorous round of packing. There is still a ton of stuff to be done, but the outlook is good for tomorrow.

I can't say that I will miss Valpo all that much. Sure its a neat little town... out in the middle of nowheresville. I'm much more of a city person, and Heidi is as well. I like having different options of places to go, people to see, things to do. Indianapolis wasn't exactly where I was looking to end up, but it is a city, and a very interesting city to say the least.

Indy has cool 20's-40's architecture, and plenty of old vacant buildings that are prime for the picking for someone looking to renovate. Indy doesn't seem to have that high of a crime rate either. I would feel fairly safe walking most anywhere in downtown. And then there is the Monon Trail. An old train track that was paved over, so that people could bike from the north suburbs, all the way downtown.

I think I'm really going to like this place.

Daily Status Check: Free iPod

My offer was marked complete yesterday (I did the subscription to Complete Home... it only cost me $1, and I also am supposed to receive a $20 gift card to Home Depot... what shall I spend it on??)

I checked my account this morning, and voila, I have my first referral. I've only sent out a couple emails to friends I thought might be interested, so I'd say my referral rate is pretty good. It would be nice to build up a list of friends who I knew would help me out, then I'd be getting a free MacMini, and a free iShuffle. Its too bad they don't offer a free Powerbook, iBook, or a free iMac. Maybe I should start that? maybe not. I'll leave this up to the professionals.

So If anyone out there wants to help a brotha out, get your Free iPod.

New Years Resolution Gone Bad

I had good intentions when I wrote my resolutions for 2005. They involved things like blogging again, taking a daily photo (w/my digital camera), working out, having a consistent quiet time, eating healthier, etc.

Well, I must shamingly admit that as of today, I have not blogged once, I have not taken one picture, I have not had one quiet time, I have eaten worse, and I have only worked out only a handful of times. If I were to rate my overall success rate based upon the first month this year, I would judge it a complete failure.

I am going to prove myself wrong dammit.
