O GOD, forasmuch as without thee we are not able to please thee; Mercifully grant that thy Holy Spirit may in all things direct and rule our hearts; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
I heard the voice of Jesus say, “Come unto Me and rest;
Lay down, thou weary one, lay down Thy head upon My breast.”
I came to Jesus as I was, weary and worn and sad;
I found in Him a resting place, and He has made me glad.
I heard the voice of Jesus say, “Behold, I freely give
The living water; thirsty one, stoop down, and drink, and live.”
I came to Jesus, and I drank of that life giving stream;
My thirst was quenched, my soul revived, and now I live in Him.
I heard the voice of Jesus say, “I am this dark world’s Light;
Look unto Me, thy morn shall rise, and all thy day be bright.”
I looked to Jesus, and I found in Him my Star, my Sun;
And in that light of life I’ll walk, till traveling days are done.

O love, how deep, how broad, how high,
It fills the heart with ecstasy,
That God, the Son of God, should take
Our mortal form for mortals’ sake!
He sent no angel to our race
Of higher or of lower place,
But wore the robe of human frame
Himself, and to this lost world came.
For us baptized, for us He bore
His holy fast and hungered sore,
For us temptation sharp He knew;
For us the tempter overthrew.
For us He prayed; for us He taught;
For us His daily works He wrought;
By words and signs and actions thus
Still seeking not Himself, but us.
For us to wicked men betrayed,
Scourged, mocked, in purple robe arrayed,
He bore the shameful cross and death,
For us gave up His dying breath.
For us He rose from death again;
For us He went on high to reign;
For us He sent His Spirit here,
To guide, to strengthen, and to cheer.
To Him Whose boundless love has won
Salvation for us through His Son,
To God the Father, glory be
Both now and through eternity.

What a bee-you-tee-ful day to be off from work. But don't worry, I won't go and get my nose broken by a football before a big date.
There's been a price put on Goldberg's head, and he's fought it off 3 times now. But what I'm not going to be able to watch is my mom's favorite (Sean Michaels) fight Goldberg for the World Heavyweight Title next week. Talk about nail-biter!
LORD, we pray thee that thy grace may always prevent and follow us, and make us continually to be given to all good works; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

O Lord, we beseech thee, let thy continual pity cleanse and defend thy Church; and, because it cannot continue in safety without thy succour, preserve it evermore by thy help and goodness; through Jesus Christ our Lord Amen.

There's a guy named Justin that I worked with at the Tech Bookstore my last quarter there. He loved life (almost too much I think) and we had a great time hearing his stories about it.
A few months after I graduated, I heard that Justin had been sent to St. Jude's for chemo and radiation treatment. He had lukemia. It was amazing because about 6 months before Justin was diagnosed, St. Jude's had begun accepting patients over 21. (He was 21 or 22 at the time.) He had his ups and downs there at St. Jude's (like any patient there does) and seemed to be doing better. He had come home (Minden) a couple of times and said even said he felt closer to "normal" for the first time in a while, bald head and all.
But soon after a benefit for him in his home town, Justin had to be rushed back to St. Jude's due to some complications and he passed away in April.
But there was something else that was very special about Justin that made a mark on my heart for him. He and I had the same birthday. I think that this year he would be 22 or 23. We didn't know each other real well but I will always remember him.
Happy birthday, man. We miss you. Catch ya on the flip side.
