yea!!! i talked to my

i talked to my manager yesterday about the possibility of getting off the first full week in january so i can go the pastor's conference (but i didn't tell her that) and beacuse i'm in a wedding that saturday. i wasn't sure it was going to be possible b/c i'm still going to be in my introductory period (which is 4 months) and she said that it should be ok. i'm sooooo excited.

i have to sores on the inside of my lower lip and one of them is in a great spot to get bitten everytime i talk or eat. earlier i was eating some pizza and was having to hold out my lip to keep from bitting it. :(

from the piano bench
JKPCA (the church i attend - see link on right) is having a christmas party on the 15th. during the party we're going to be having a talent show. now i haven't really committed to doing anything for the show but i've told several people that i'm going to play something on the piano.i took lessons for 7 years but whenever i set down to play something new it seems that i only took for 2, so i'm stuck with playing something that i'd used before. i went through some of my books and found what i think i might want to play. it's an arrangement of "O For a Thousand Tounges" with 3 key changes in only 2 pages. it's impressive but not showy. i think my only problem now is getting to my mom's house to practice over the next two weeks. it's been quite a while since i've played it for a competition or a recital so i'm gunna have to practice. i just hope i can do it right.

my desk looks like it has a disease. my stepdad used it a few times as his painting easel and there are spots all over the desktop of several different colors. at one point in time i thought of sanding it down (as long as i've known it's be all white) and putting a wood stain on it but changed my mind due to lack of time and effort. any suggestions?
training, part II i found
training, part II
i found out last week that i can't go to the training session over in monroe next month to train for actual job position. instead i have to go over to shreveport later this week and early next week. i was somewhat dissappointed at first because i would have been able to be trained under the same lady that did my teller training and see some of the people i had met before. now i'm going to be with strangers :( but i'm getting all excited about going to the "big city." i get to stay in a hotel all by myself and everything. plus i'll be able to go see my sister and her family.

The Bible teaches what is called the transcendence of God--that God is over all and is truly "above and beyond" any creature. The Bible also teaches the immanence of God--that God is "with man." That God, indeed, became flesh and dwelt among men. The doctrine of the immanence of God holds that God is with us, that God is present in His world and that He indeed can be known and fellowshipped with "by humans>." If immanence is taught without a proper emphasis on transcendence, the risk is that people will see their relationship with God as almost a relationship among equals. Coupled with a zeal to say to people "you can know God!" there is a corresponding risk of "reducing" God to someone who is kind of like the nice man next door who is retired and always available to hlep jump-start your car or go to the drug store for aspirin if you have a headache and can't function. In short, poor teaching on the transcendence of God will inevitably have negative consequences in every part of one's theology--even the immanence of God is dependent upon the transcendence of God being taught properly, for the God you can know can be known only because of a necessary, magnificent work of mediation--the work of the Lord Jesus Christ, the God-man. If the transendence of God is begins to be lost, the work of mediation will become less and less important, for the gap between the Creator and the creature will become less and less notable and voila, the church is bubbling over with mushy, sentimental theology, much of which is traceable to the loss of the transcendence of God....It is one thing to say that the Son of God became man; it is quite a different matter to say that the entirety of God became man. It is one thing to say that the Spirit of God dwells among us; it is quite a different matter to say that God in his wholeness dwells among men. mourning my step-dad's mom (aka
mourning
my step-dad's mom (aka grandma) died this morning. i'm not sure of her age but she's at least 70. we believe that she died from a heartattack. her sister went over there this morning to see her and found her on the floor. she wasn't in the best physical health but was in a great relationship with her Father which we are all thankful for.
