War

Let us pray together for peace in the world.

1. In peace, let us pray to the Lord.
2. For peace from above and the salvation of our souls, let us pray to the Lord.
3. For peace in the whole world, for the stability of the Holy Churches of God, and for the union of all, let us pray to the Lord.
4. For the President of our country, for those in Civil Authority, for our Armed Forces, and for all the American Nation, let us pray to the Lord.
5. For this city, and for every city and land, and for the faithful who dwell in them, let us pray to the Lord.
6. For our deliverance from all tribulation, wrath, danger, and necessity, let us pray to the Lord.
Help us, save us, have mercy on us, and keep us, O God, by Your Grace.
~Amen.~

Ahhh....I love MO!

I think I recall hearing that Garrett was/is a christian...but don't quote me on that.

James,

That would be news to me if Garrett were a Christian. He is very active in social justice and environmental issues, it'd be great, and not really surprising, if he is a Christian.

Yes, MO's music is simply fantastic. It's heartfelt, unique, inspiring, energetic, and harmonic. Tough to beat.

MO is one of the bands that I have not yet seen in concert, and I can't quite figure out why. Other such bands: Radio Head, Trash Can Sinatras, Smashing Pumpkins, and Tool.

James,

Another thing interesting about MO that you may or may not know. As you know the band's members are all Australian. It turns out that Australia has the highest population of Greek Orthodox Christians outside of Greece. I think it's obvious from several of MO's songs that they are indeed at least knowledgable of the claims of Christianity. We see references to icons:

I may be Peter I may be Paul, but don't put me up on your wall...
Scriptural phrases:
You remember the flood and the fall, we remember the light on the hill...
There are, as you know, many other "Christian" references in their songs-- how interesting would that be if it turns out that Garrett (or the others) are not only Christian, but Orthodox!?
