Check out a fellow philosophy major/Westwood-plaza neighbor of mine from UCLA. He is a professional "bike trialer." It is a very interesting, relatively new bicycle sport. Check it out for yourself: BikeTrials.com His name is Stephen Maeder and he is ALWAYS on his bike; he rides to and from class, and he even spends the 10-15 minute breaks out on his bike.
The sport seems to be a combination of mountain-climbing with bike riding. The rider utililizes balance, brakes, and timing to manuever his way up and across rocks, walls, statues, cars, etc. Who knows, it might be the next "roller-blading." :-)
