Tonight I was able to

Tonight I was able to spend some precious time with my favorite girl in the world, and I thank God for the opportunity. Tonight was also filled with some reason for concern however. I have learned that my grandmother's condition (hepititus C) is reaching a critical stage (she wakes up every morning with blood coming out of her mouth). For those that don't know Hepititus is a disease contracted by my grandmother through a blood transfusion that took place over 25 years ago. It causes the liver to shrivel up and stop functioning...usually alchoholics have this problem, but my grandmother hasn't drank a day in her life. I am saddended furthermore by the news that she is refusing a liver transplant due to the very high risk that she would be killed by the operation (I don't think I blame her). She has decided to just ride it out without surgery. Obviously her family (two daughters, two sons) are deeply concerned. My mother not only has that to worry about but she also is in the midst of some health related problems. My mother developed growths on her neck and underwent a biopsy today to find out whether or not it is cancerous--she gets her test results back just 3 days prior to Christmas. I ask for those Christian friends of mine to keep both my mother and my grandmother in prayer (you are in my prayers as well). I ask God to hold close my grandmother in comfort and assurance of salvation, and I ask God to bring my mother and family closer to God as a result of these events. May whatever takes place bring glory to God.

the great physician is indeed my God.

I just found out that my boss (and she is a very good friend) was diagnosed with HepC. She said that she has had it for at least 13 years. She got it a while back when she was into some bad things at a much younger age. I am scared. I don't know what to expect. And I don't know what to say to her. If anyone has some comments about my story, please-please e-mail me.

I am 16 and my very good friend's father has hepitius c. How easy is it for him to have the disease after living in the same house for so long and if he is sexually active, can his partner contract it? I am not sure if his father had it before or after he was born, does it make a difference, thanks for your help, sincerely

IVE HAD HEP C FOR 30 YRS. THE FIRST THING U HAVE 2 DO IS NO ALCOHOL. THEN THERE IS A TREATMENT BUT A VERY EXPENSIVE ONE IF U R NOT INSURED.FOR THIS CONDITION. RIGHT NOW IM ON MY 3RD MONTH WITH LITTLE RESULTS.AT THE END OF 3 MONTHS IF THERE IS NO SIGNIFICANT IMPROVMENT I WILL STOP TREATMENT BECAUSE THIS DRUG IS VERY POWERFUL.WITH THE RIGHT GENO TYPE THERE IS A 60% CHANCE OF TOTAL RECOVERY . WITH A TRANSPLANT THE HEP USUALLY COMES BACK IN ABOUT 6 MOS. I GOT MINE IN VIETNAM 1969 from tainted blood thx ray

everyone seeems to think that hep is a death sentence it can be.the key is prolonging your life.diet, nutrition, limiting partying, and never giving up.feel tired ? rest!!!!iwas diagnosed 5 years ago they believe it's been in my system 25+ years.i've changed my life completely diet is key.as americans we're terrible at polluting our systems with the foods we eat.2 years ago i was vomiting/passing blood.weighed about 128.180 is my ideal weight.they said i had 6 months to live and recomended hospice.i told them to kiss my ass.i have a beautiful daughter that i'm going to see through high school.information is important.i'm not in remission. have found ways around the sideaffects.organic treatment has changed my life.folic acid, immune system foods, low fat diet ect...more than anything positive thinking.this is the fight of your life.the one time you can fight and not go to jail.remember by their books i should have been dead 2 years ago.FOREVER FOWARD

to my fellow heps.don't be a sissy FIGHT IT.

I am 51 and have been diagosed with Hep c, genotype 1a. Probably got it when I was 19 or 20. Have not done any treatment yet. Have been putting it off due to personal obligations. I feel totally alone. Single gal, kids are still dependent on me. Can't afford to take the time to possibly get well.
