and I just finished writing an extra credit assignment for one of my students--he's going to the Inauguration. I'm jealous.
But I'm about to take a trip myself--back to Gadsden. My sister's birthday is this weekend. So we're gonna hang out and talk and laugh and take care of the kids and do estate stuff--yuck--I can almost feel the paperwork. I'm planning on cleaning some stuff out of the house on Saturday while my sister is working--filling up the garbage can and taking several loads to Goodwill or Salvation Army or whatever "let us take those things off your hands and give you a receipt" place is in Gadsden.
So yeah, I'll be burning up the highway again.

Where did you go?

"I've said before, you need three friends in this world: a friend you can take to work parties, a friend who will listen to you cry, and a friend you can call to bail you out of jail. These are, of course, figures of speech: you usually don't "cry" with friend #2, and hopefully you won't actually be in "jail" when you ask friend #3 for help. It's just the concept. #1 knows how to behave, #2 knows how to listen, #3 knows how to not judge when things fall apart."
