Getting out of town

Aunt J and Uncle J are (for the next 4 months) renting a house in Palm Springs, CA from a friend of theirs. My aunt called me to warn me (after I'd got my airline ticket to be here for Christmas) that the house was full of 'frou frou.' It's country decorating gone bad. And other miscellaneous stuff. It looks like she still has her stuffed animals from high school, which was maybe 40 years ago. Definitely not our kind of place.

These are things I would never own. Never even thought could exist. There's a reading group of stuffed animals in the living room. There's a lot of dolls. There's a lot of fake flowers. And here's a play wooden ironing board which is obviously an antique...I'm just thinking 'What the HECK?'

The amazing yet creepy piece is a 12 or 18 inch doll of Lady Diana. In a glass box. I'm almost scared and definitely bewildered.

You know what? This makes me love IKEA more. LOL.

Alright, I'm gonna grab another cup of coffee and sit in the sun.

see!? you should've come to visit me. WE have an IKEA here. and snow. and the only froofy ornament in my household decor is the large carved teddy bear holding a piece of bark with "JOY" written on it (one of many such self-named gifts from grandma, this one rec'd in the mail yesterday).
