Looks very Honda Civic/Japanese import-like.
Posted by: Scott at January 13, 2005 11:38 PMi have always heard that the jetta is a great car (esp. the diesel, which gets something like 50 mpg). go for it!

Posted by: John at January 14, 2005 12:08 PMI betcha it still has the distinctive drive...
Posted by: bob at January 16, 2005 11:06 PMOh for sure, it is probably rock solid and hugs the road. I am just a little disappointed because for the past several years Audi/VW has taken successful styling risks. Are their cars avante garde no more? I saw a new Toyota Corolla S the other day and the profile looked very similar to the above. I think they should focus more on copying their competitors' reliability track records rather than their looks.
Something else I cannot figure out is why they've tried to turn VW (translated "the peoples' car") into a luxury division? Some Audis and VWs are almost identical, with the former being sporty and the latter being plush (think A4/Passat and A8/Phaeton). And besides, who would pay $70K for a VW?
All that said, it's still a good looking car ;)
