Ok, I know someone in Belgium is checking this, so I'm guessing it is one of the compadres in Brussels. Will you see if the MTW people have any sort of schedule for me? 'Cause I'm trying to set up a meeting with Vesalius, but have no idea what's going on with my time.
Just call me iPod boy. Which is darn well equipped with Matt Dillon reading _On The Road_. And lots of U2 bootlegs. Oh yeah. Put me on the highway and show me the sign.
Posted by mike at July 15, 2004 09:44 PMhey jeep - i have a audiobook that i downloaded from itunes - it is a mcsweeny's short story collection - very cool. but i can not burn it onto a cd because it is too long - it has to be put in an ipod (which i don't have). are you on a mac? if so, i can stick it in my public folder and i think you can access it.
Posted by: amy at July 15, 2004 10:50 PMWe've been 'planning' your schedule. I think B might have already sent it to you. I'm so glad you're bringing your iPod, I'm ready to listen to some new music. To make the explanation short, my iBook broke while I was here, so I've only had my iPod for entertainment.
Posted by: jkrue at July 16, 2004 07:00 AMyes yes yes - i picked up matt dillon's version of on the road a couple of years ago and am so so glad i found it.
greatness. i wish my tape player worked better in my car...i get through one side then the darn thing thinks it's too hot and spits the tape back at me. after 10 minutes of out-in-out-in-out i either give up or try one more time. sometimes i'm successful, other times not so much.
i'm gonna have to get that series out again. good summertime reading/listening.
how lame am i? you have it on your ipod, i'm still lugging around cassettes... : )
Posted by: steph at July 16, 2004 02:03 PMNot lame. Maybe embracing a simpler life. =) Definitely a cheaper life.
But I am looking forward to getting rid of lots of cd's, as they're now kind of backed up. So next time I move I'll have fewer boxes. Several fewer boxes. Including several fewer boxes of books. I'm being pretty ruthless. 'I haven't read this in the twelve years I've had it, if I need to, well, there's always the library.'
Posted by: jeep at July 16, 2004 10:09 PMyou have more guts than i...i can't get rid of a book no matter how heavy it is. i can barely get rid of a magazine...i have a whole shelf for martha stewarts and pottery barn and other assorted catalogs...
good thing i'm not moving again for a few years.
enjoy your trip!
