ok. is this post just another one of those cryptic-unless-you're-a-chattanoogan-covenanter posts? i'll bite. what's 100% and what's it got to do with the nice professor (he would be perfect for the Professor part in the new LWW Narnia movie).

Ladies and gentlemen,100% plus 100% = 100% - I miss that man. He taught me the gospel...

Will write soon.

My favorite quote from Dr. K, "Miss Stacey, you heart is a deep snake pit. Ha ha ha!" Ah, the good ol' days of Covenant.

He is Dr. K, a tall Dutch man with a Dutch accent. He is a Bible professor, and teaches Doctrine and other such classes each year--he's a Covenant College fixture.

As for 100%...well, that takes a lot of explaining. When he says "100% plus 100% equals 100%," he is talking about Christ, who is 100% human, subject to all the weaknesses of being a human--but Christ is also 100% God. He is totally human and totally God at the same time. This is a Holy Mystery, and we can only understand it a little...the inconceivable part we have to accept on faith. Soooo -- the 100% + 100% = 100% is a mnemonic Dr. K developed to summarize that Holy Mystery in just a few syllables.

Covenanteers, did I explain that well? Does it need even more background? Outside-looking-in, did I explain that well? Does you need more background?

Ooooh! Dr. K has the same initial as Professor Kirke in LWW! Wow!!

that's great, GQ.
i'm clear now on both mysteries: his identity and the explanation of the trinity.
thanks.

The 100%+100%=100% thing seems to be applicable to pretty much everything--Christ being fully God and fully man, Salvation, and probably a lot of other stuff that I'm forgetting.
