I just read about today's cards game against the Nationals. It was awesome. Mark Mulder was scratched due to a stiff neck so they went with Cal Eldred, one of St. Louis relievers who actually isn't the greatest reliever on the team. Cal teamed up with four other st. louis relievers to shutout the nationals 6 to 0 for the second strait game. Granted I might give these past two games to terrible Nats play because Jason Marquis is not a shutout pitcher and frankly today is just pathetic for the nats, but i'll revel in it as my boys sharpen up some skills. This gave all the relievers some good playing time and frankly gave the cards another possible option of just throwing in their relievers in there for a few innings in case the starters get hurt or don't play well in the post season.
