OK, i'm a huge alias geek, its one of my wife's and mine favorite shows. But that was the worst season finale I've ever seen. Worse then the last seinfeld. Not only was no closure given, but more questions were posed than were answered. IF anything that should be a second to last episode because that was just plane crappy! I'm so annoyed. I need closure people! Vaughn got his closure! WHERE"S MINE!
And the fact the morons at ABC aren't putting the show back on the air till january means all us Alias geeks have to weight 8 monthes to find out what happened to sloan, what was on that paper, and whether or not Marshall will pull through??? Guh, though I am pleased to go to abc's message board and see all the fellow geeks just as up in arms as myself and wifey. I hate summers! All the good shows are now done and I'm stuck with crappy reruns. Guess I'll read or something.
Continue to read to if you want to know weekend events
Wife and I just chilled this weekend. We went out with the roe's last night for some pizza and the two of us caught Return of the King at the 2 bucker. It was good to see it again one last time on the big screen. RTK was definately my favorite. Then we had the roes over for some gaming this afternoon. It was great time of settlers and josiah belittleing me. Also their dog got into our leave pile and got about a 100 ticks on him. Apparently we have infestation in our yard. So come on over folks!
Posted by holtonian at May 23, 2004 10:18 PM | TrackBackDoes anyone have the episode on tape? I tried to record it on my PC, because my video card has a TV tuner. However, there was a software glitch and it did not record. I only caught the last fifteen minutes.
I am bummed about the 7 month delay until the season premiere, but will use the time to re-watch the complete 1st and 2nd seasons on DVD. Hopefully, the 3rd season will be out before January '05.
Posted by: Scott at May 23, 2004 11:03 PMyes it was really crappy. the show has definitely jumped the shark. too bad you expected answers...they're never into giving out answers. we didnt like that almost all the "good guys" aren't so good anymore, and the level of violence seems to have stepped up too much. I'm not sorry to see it go...it'll actually be nice to get with our "alias group" each week without the bother of the tube. and what's up with those stupid loren/syd masks? what is this, scooby doo? sheesh.
Posted by: bobw at May 24, 2004 12:48 AMCompared to the Season 2 finale, yeah, it was a let down. But I think it did what the finale in a show like this is supposed to do, right? Mystery. Suspense. Drama... During the 9:45 commercial break, I commented to my wife that they really were going to have to create a lot of questions to leave unanswered in this final 10 minutes. At that point, I didn't feel there was enough mystery to leave us hanging, aching to discover what the heck is going on in Sydney's screwed up life... But they pulled it off. Yes, they are cruel, cruel people, but they've got me hooked... and that's their job. I definitely want to tune in to Season 4 to see those questions answered. (I agree with Bob. I wish they hadn't done the rubber mask thing. Not really any reason left for Sydney's old disguises anymore, is there?)
Posted by: jofis at May 25, 2004 11:09 AMScott, I've got the Alias finale on tape...
Posted by: RobU at May 25, 2004 06:34 PMYeah the thing with the finale though is that wasn't how it was supposed to end. Originally JJ Abrams had Sidney having to choose between saving Vaughn or her dad but he thought that wouldn't play out with the fans so he switched the ending. I could tell a few scenes that were added, or at least i think i can tell where scenes were interchanged.
And I guess as far as finales go for Alias this one was decent. Though prior to this season everytime i watched a finale, I knew what happened next. I rented both Season 1 and 2 well after I had started watching the show at the beginning of season 3. I'm not a man that likes to wait around to find the end of a story. I'm the type that would read tolkein in a night.
