Keyless Chuck Drills are the Power Tool Industry's Biggest Prank on the Consumer

I hate curtains... correction I hate hanging curtains. I also hate, with the core of my being, key less chuck drills. Do me a favor don't ever buy a key less chuck. Every time I've used my key less chuck drill the drill bit comes off. So i try to hold the screwing thing to tighten the chuck and strip my hands of the precious flesh that keeps the insides in and the outsides out. It was a wedding gift from the father in law but I'm not too grateful for this gift, i'm grateful for the thought, but i sort of just want to give him the gift and be like, "I'll get my own thanks." I'm that frusterated with it. I sound like a spoiled brat i realize, but are your hand bare from having the flesh torn off from trying to tighten a chuck? Do your drill bits fly out while trying to drill a simple hole? Of course not, why don't these things happen to you? You bought a keyed chuck drill. I commend you.

There are a couple reasons you may be having problems with your keyless chuck drill.

1) You are not strong enough to tighten the chuck by hand.

2) Your hands are too soft (so you stop tightening when it starts to hurt).

Both of these conditions are the result of a lack of hard work.

I suggest that you throw away your Oil of Olay hand lotion and go dig some holes in your yard by hand. Then, if your chuck still doesn't hold the drill bit then replace it with a sissy keyed chuck drill.

Oh, I forgot one other trick you could try. Do what Moises does (see link).

Don't shake hands with this guy.

Try tightening it while the drill is off. Or just get a new one.

Sounds like a good idea based on what Chris just told me. Apparently the drill is a Black & Decker. A Porter Cable or DeWalt is in order.
