Welcome to Dietville...population: ME

One day down, who knows how many more to go. My first day on the South Beach diet was rather uneventful. I was hungry most of the day but thats standard protocol for me even without being on a diet. I must say I'm more tempted to go full Atkins at times but the wife and her book claims this is better so I'll take her word for it. The first two weeks are like any other standard diet. No fat and no carbs. I handled it well so far, though i almost by habit ate some chocolate covered popcorn at the mail station luckily my brain stopped my stomach. We went to Mart Wal tonight to load up on cheeses and meats. I got a lot of string cheese and feta which is cool because I'm a huge cheese man but for so long stayed away from the stuff because of its fat content, now its OK to eat some cheeses though I have to stick to the ones made of low to skim milk. We bought some no carb, no sugar ice cream, though it has both. It was pretty good however the wife was not a fan... more for me i guess. I also ran today however all the credit for the inspiration falls squarely on brother Obscene Gene. His visit which brought with it him forcing me to go jogging with him really inspired me of sorts to get off my duff and work my stuff. So i ran today and ran into my old pall Bronislaus. We're going to start running, hopefully, together at least once a week. I know if I have a partner to keep me going it will help me and I know that I won't want to look him in the eye and tell him I didn't run at all during the week so it should keep me in shape. Hopefully all this will not fade like my desire to learn Karate, or my desire to be an Archer, or my desire to go to Russia, or my desire to go grad school, or become a professional athelete, or pursue a career in rock music, or my desire to be a ninja, or be Dan Marino, Frank Wycheck, or Fred Thompson. So this diet hopefully unlike all those other goals, dreams, and dares will stick. Keep reading for a Quick rap up of weekend events

As mentioned my brother came up and it was a great time. I hung out with his old Catacombian buddies friday night. We went to pickel barrel and then to one of their houses for some Halo and cinematic experience, aka Tomb Raider the Cradle of Life. I must say it was good to play Halo, but after watching Tomb Raider I wished I had swallowed my own fist instead of watching that crap. It was great to see how my brothers friends interacted with him. It was sort of a comradery that is hard to come by these days. There was both the reminsicing of years pass and reliving of years past immaturity. One thing i found out was the "Luckiest Man Alive" does a great farting noise that is so on the money. The next day I finally got my digital camera from sears and will honestly say will never go to that store ever again to buy anything electronical. I'll still buy tools but nothing else, that store is filled with incompetency. Its pretty sweet little thing, 5 megpix, 3xzoom, Sony Cyber Shot. The memory stick only carries six pics though on full mega power. I could dumb it down a bit but the full power is so awesome. The quality is just great. I like being able to point a camera take a pic and it be great. So far the lighting has been perfect on all my shots. One time i moved the camera while it was taking a pic but that was user error not camera error. Its a great little deal and I can't wait to go somewhere cool to take pics. I need to travel or something, but first i must lose weight so i look good in my pictures. Obscene and I just traveled around Chatt for most of saturday talking a lot adn driving his sweet ride. He wants to buy one of those pick up trucks that can drive on train tracks... really i think he wants a train but can't afford one so he's going for the next best thing, eh every guy's got his dreams. Mine's to be the next Emmit Smith. The dream doesn't have to be accomplishable. We had a good home cooked meal that night and then went out to Big River to play some pool. Good time had by all. Big River though is bit too happening for me. I like my hangouts to be more lame, thats why I miss the Safari Pub so much, it was so lame yet so cool. It was the INDY PUB. ! we had a good time with Obscene and were sad to see him go but somebody's got fly them bi-planes. Speaking of Indy stuff, I joined Netflix today which was cool. I got three movies for my trial rental that should be here by the weekend, which is good since I'll be home alone this weekend. I got Adaptation (A Roe/Mesh Recommendation), Gangs of NY (Really I got this because U2 did the song for the movie and I'm that lame), and Super Troopers which i've been wantitng to see for some time. NExt on the list...... OH YOU GUESSED IT ALIAS SEASON 2! I convinced the wife we needed net flix with that one. I mean Blockbuster just sucks, they never have what i want and i pay 5 bucks to rent somethign for two days. I mean I couldn't even watch all of 2 towers the extended because i only got it for two days how lame was that?? Answer: Very. Well its late and bed is a callin. Keep those dreams a flowin and the coffee a brewin.

I miss the Safari Pub too. I even miss that chick who sang an acoustic-guitar version of "Smooth Operator." I reaaly liked giving her a hard time... "Play 'Barracuda'!"

Had a super time up there, "the fellowship was sweet" as Keith Green would say. Tell wifeypooh that she won't be so lucky next time when I shoot the eight ball into a corner pocket. Heard I will be going to busilling metropolis Meridian MS for the next 3 years of my depleating youth...yep, for those who are geographically challenged..it's basically in the middle of no where, or to relate it to LOTR terminology, it's 10 miles north of MODOR, there be dragons there. Can't wait to come back and make the 4 hour drive to Chatt. I'll get you and J-nell a neat gifty poo from arabia.

Yeah,..uh Obscene, Meridian doesn't really do anything for me. How about back to San Diego. Like I'm going to visit you in Meridian. I mean Come On. Timmay
