"You can't spell American without 'I can'" My retort to that would be, "You can't spell 'You suck' without 'you.'"
"Walmart isn't the only saving place" My reply: "There's also Target and Sams."
"Jesus Wants your body" Currently on the baptist church next to Sonic on Highway 2, I don't know how to reply to this one...its mostly just really sad, I hope, neh I pray that this is the work of some youngsters and not of any sort of educated or preecherly fellow.
"The most expensive furniture is an empty pew" That is unless its at Factory Direct Furniture. Buy one pew get the second half off!"
"Prayer is like calling home"...... "Why??? Do i ask God for money too?"
Well thats all I've got from five monthes of living in North west Georgia. I can honestly say I worry for the future of Christianity if its left in the hands of the sign evangelists.
"We may not be Dairy Queen but we have good Sundays too"
That is the one that I have seen most recently. I can't think of any others right now but I can tell you that these things piss me off. Every time we drive past one of these stupid signs my wife gets scared that I am going to drive off the road because I get so mad.
Of course the church that is classic for the really stupid ones and also for having their really stupid messages changed into something funny is that last church on the right on St. Elmo Ave., just before the gas station. Some times their messages are so stupid I can't believe that someone took the time to put those letters onto the sign.
Posted by: bhuffine at December 2, 2003 08:15 AMA certain friend of mine, whose name I will not mention, recently came across a church sign reading, "CHRISTMAS PLAY, THURSDAY AT 7." So he removed the "P".
Posted by: mesh at December 2, 2003 11:46 AM"Come jam with the Lamb." There are more, just ask the Martin twins...
Posted by: charity at December 2, 2003 12:33 PM"There is something about Mary....and Jesus too"
Ugh. Great topic to blog about holtie.
Posted by: crabby at December 2, 2003 05:41 PMSome of those messages on the church signs are pretty cheesy, I agree. I put up the messages on the sign at my church, so if you have any good messages I would love to hear them. I am having a hard time finding something good each weak. The best one I could find is "The greatest good you can do for another is not just to share your riches but to reveal to him his own". I would love to hear from you. The computer stuff is all new to me so I hope you get this.
