It's my birthday today.
I got a lei from one of my students. It smells great.
But I have no plans tonight. Someone come visit me tonight!

I'm there!
A buddy of mine went to school there. UofH@Hilo I guess. He said it's pretty wild. He said that he experienced more racism there than any other place in the US. He told me that the Hawiians generally hate everyone including other islanders. If you're walking down the street and someone calls you a howlie (lifeless, w/o breath(the Hawiian word for white equivalent with nigger)) you just nod and be on your way but if you hear f*n' howlie you run like you've never ran in your life. He said that they even have something against the Samoans because they used to be cannibals. I mean come on they gave that up long ago. Get over it. I don't really know the history of cannibalism in Samoa this is just what I was told. I looked online but found little. It's strange because he said that the Samoans were the nicest people he met there. Very quiet and unassuming. Oh well.
I live in Hilo, Hawaii, on the Big Island, the island that is farthest to the southeast. I live on the east side of the island, in the rainiest city in the United States, and within a two hour drive of anyplace on the island...including some of the nicest beaches in the nation (so says Conde Nast), live lava flows, and macadamia nut farms.
Wanna come? ;)
