Uh oh. Time to clean it up.

I foolishly mentioned to my mom that I have a blog. I must have been tired. To describe what followed as a torturous interrogation is gross understatement. It started with the usual bright lights and vicious threats, but I wasn't intimidated. When she strapped my arms to the chair and taped electrodes to my temples, I braced myself and took the voltage like a man. When she burrowed the pepper-laden needles of fire into carefully selected nerve fibers, I screamed inside but didn't divulge one letter of that url. But when she pulled out the "you'll-tell-me-because-I'm-your-mom" treatment, I cracked, and the next thing I remember she was asking "and is there an 's' on the end of that?" So exhausted I couldn't speak, with tears streaming down my face, I just nodded. Since this ordeal took place over the phone, she refused to accept this, demanding an answer from her vanquished victim. With my last ounce of strength, I managed a feeble "yes," and woke up the next morning in the middle of a forest several miles from home, cold, parched, and racked with pain, but thankful to be alive.

Every man has his breaking point, and every mom knows it.

Trying to fix movablestyle.com typepad thin template. How did you position the page to the center and what did you do with the pop-up comment? Thanks.

Well, as you can see, there's a lot that's not working. As for centering, I used a trick I found somewhere that centers the left edge of the div using absolute positioning at 50%, and then sets the left margin to offset by half the width of your page. In the main index, I encased everything in the "main" div, with the following entry on the stylesheet:

#main {
position:absolute;
left: 50%;
margin-left: -365px;
width: 730px;
}

I'm not sure what you're asking about with the pop-up comments. I remember poking at a lot of things but I'm not sure what I ended up changing. You're welcome to the templates, if you want them, but they still need tweaking.

interestingly enough, two weeks ago the onion had an article about some guy's mom finding his blog.

this would be a lot more effective if i could find a link to the article, BUT if you've read it, we can both nod knowingly and chuckle to ourselves.

I am sorry to learn that your back is in such bad
shape. I am one of the people who considers chiro-
practors very helpful - IF YOU HAVE THE RIGHT ONE!
You might want to try a different office - I will
find out the school (type of training) that Dr.
Morris and Dr. Browning went to because, believe
it or not, different chiropractic schools have
entirely different approaches, and that is part of
why I did not like Dr. Bartels even before the in-
cident with your sister. He was one of those who
"beat you up", and expected you to be on his
weekly calendar. If you have a good one, you will
get lasting relief from minimal visits.
