Red Sox sweep Cardinals

It must've been an odd sight to watch me bolt out of Mesh's this evening after watching the Red Sox beat the Cardinals. I couldn't help it. I didn't want to cry in front of 20 strangers.

The Red Sox won the World Series tonight, seven years after the death of my mother, who was a Red Sox fan. I remember her being livid when they lost in '86, and telling me and my dad over the years to turn off the TV when they were losing. But she remained a fan until the end.

She really would've liked this.

I'm so happy that I'm numb.

I don't know if it means anything coming from a complete stranger, but your post made me smile tonight. I needed it.

Thank you.

The people weren't complete strangers...I actually knew many of them...wrong choice of words...Pardon me, I'm not thinking clearly right now, as you can probably imagine. :)

Glad I made you smile...

The future father in law will ceremoniously burn his copy of Game 7 from the ’86 series tonight. He has watched it once a year save this one...same outcome.

And, see, 1986 was the last taste of glory for my favorite team... My brother has this '86 Mets commemmorative video that we watched, well, way too many times when we were still kids.
