Well, that hiatus didn't last long, did it?: What i've learned from watching tv lately

What I've learned from watching TV lately:

1. Any smear campaign, negative ad, or bully tactic used against President Bush is applauded, encouraged and "needed" in this "most important election, ever."

2. Any smear campaign, negative ad, or bully tactic used against John Kerry is "an example of bias," "politically partisan," "unfair," and "hypocritical."

3. Fox News is "extremely biased," "bigoted," "a pawn for the Republican party," "out of touch with America" or "the majority of voters," "not to be taken seriously," "politically partisan," "unfair," "unbalanced," and "hypocritical."

4. On the flipside, ABC News, CBS News, NBC News, CNN, PBS and MSNBC are "completely objective" and "truthful."

The common thread?
All of aforementioned accusations/characterisations are false.

It's amazing. When you turn off your TV, it's much easier to think objectively about your TV.

I find it more pleasant to turn my TV off and think about things that aren't on my TV.

me too. though the first few minutes after shutting it off in my house usually go something like this:

"What a moron! Why do I even watch that crap?!!?"

Then, I move onto other things that bring me peace.

...Like the Red Sox...

Oh wait...

Fox news is pretty bad no matter what side you look at it from.

define "pretty bad."

Posted by: Bill Colrus at August 20, 2004 03:34 PM

pretty bad = really annoying

i can see that.

But you have to admit, not many things are as annoying as Dan Rather or Tom Brokenjaw.
