I test-screened the DVD for 4 friends last night, and there were many laughs. One of those in attendance tracked me down via my wife's cell phone today to tell me how much he liked it and that he would actually "pay money for a copy."
With that ringing endorsement (and a few mental notes I took last night), I've decided to go all-out with a menu and possibly some bonus footage. I'm also going to drop a couple of things, add a couple of things, and move some stuff around. Fast and funny definitely works best on this one, and most of the pieces where I/we were "trying to make a point" will be left on the cutting room floor. That includes almost all of the editorials and most of the finger-pointing political stuff.
I've already sketched out some ideas for the jacket of the DVD case and will hopefully have this all wrapped up in a week. More boring blog posts until then, I'm afraid.
If you are finding yourself falling prey to excitement as a result of all my shameless plugging of this DVD, then my plan is working perfectly. Just kidding. Actually, I fear that some of you will buy it, hate it, and want to kill me. Just keep in mind that I actually only appear in a small percentage of the footage, so direct your anger elsewhere if you are unhappy with your purchase. Oh, and you won't be able to get your money back, either, as I will have most likely spent it all on drugs by the time you get your DVD.
Saw Spiderman 2, today. Thought I didn't like it as much as Mesh seemingly did, I did like it. James Franco was much better on Freaks and Geeks, though. Kind of a bland performance in this one...

Gonna add some Chef Lin? PLease tell me the Lactose Intolerance rally is in there, nearly in its entirety. If there's one piece that deserves to be unmolested, it's that one.

There are 4-5 clips of the Lactose Intolerance Rally, not the whole thing, but I may expand the section. I want to keep the whole thing short, but also include as much as possible, so very few things will make it unmolested. I am combign through the Chef Lin stuff, too, for stuff to include. The unfortunate fact is that the editorial stuff seems to be the odd man out. The editorials really don't jive pace-wise with the rest of the DVD, though in a full-show situation, they are fantastic. More people interacting with each other on screen just lends itself to more entertainment than somebody arguing a long, in-depth (albeit brilliant) point.
With a few more tweaks, we might have a winner. Heck, I might even buy one, myself...
