So, this weekend has been a mini vacation, as Melissa and I are in Arcadia, Florida visiting her parents. Other than millions of love bugs deciding to commit suicide on my windshield, it's been a pretty pleasant -- if uneventful -- trip.
Yesterday, we went to the beach in Bradenton. Today, the beach in Siesta Key in Sarasota. Lunch at a severly NOT busy Red Lobster. The beach is always nice.
Due to the (arguable) portability on my G3 iMac, I was able to bring it along in order to write/edit articles for this week's issue, and post meaningless play-by-play of my mini-vacation.
I am now in the second week of Advil dependance due to my much-needed root canal, which I hope to get done later this week. Root canals and dental insurance both require a lot of money. I almost have a lot of money.

I almost had a lot of money when I was an engineer and my wife was a bank officer and we had no children.
Now I'm a teacher, my wife works part-time for a ministry, and we have a 9-1/2 month old. It will be a long time before I almost have a lot of money again.

I must admit I find it sort of funny when people come down here on vacation and go to the beach all the time, since I live 5 minutes away and haven't set foot on the beach for months. The closest I get to the beach is when I go to the mall in Sarasota and decide there would be less traffic driving home along the beaches.
