MP3.COM will be no more as of December 2nd, taking all hosted content with it.
While I never downloaded a single tune from this site, it was a good place for anybody to post their tunes so anybody else (with ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BETTER TO DO) could hear them. I'm sure another site will slide in and corner this at-home artist market.
In closing, I'd just like to say that there are WAY too many bands out there...

I used it to find out about other new/local bands that people recommended. But I have to agree that there are way too many bands out there. Some are good, some are decent and way too many are pretty bad. But everyone has got to start somewhere.

Posted by: John at November 21, 2003 01:08 AMi imagine there's some decent stuff on there, but they haven't updated the site in months, and simply because mp3.com is a useful technology, doesn't mean it's necessarily helping to effectively promote the bands. there's just so many of them that it's hard/boring to dredge through all the stuff on there to find the gems.
