David Ortiz
This is what the 2003 A.L. MVP looks like when he hits a home run against the Yankees. Oh yeah, the Sox won.
Posted by colrus at October 8, 2003 11:46 PM | TrackBackCongrats to the Sox on the Game 1 win. I knew almost from the moment that Ortiz stepped into the batter's box that he would hit that two-run homer. Why the Yankees started Mussina instead of Pettitte I'll never know. I have insisted on Pettitte starting Game 1 in both series thus far. It will be interesting to see how Derek Lowe pitches at Yankee Stadium as his numbers typically have been far better at Fenway. With Pedro on the hill in Game 3, New York has to win Game 2 or they will lose the series.
