Just testing embedding Flickr photos..
I've realized a serious lack of photos on this blog, so this is my attempt to make things right.
So Jackson and I were playing with squirt guns just now and he empties his gun then throws it at me just like on Police Squad. I laughed then spanked him.
"Daaa-ddy!"
"Wha-at?"
"Come here if you want to see a surprise."
"Is it a good surprise or a bad surprise?"
"It's a pot-ty surprise.. Now close your eyes."
--do not continue unless you have a strong stomach
"OK. Open your eyes. Now pick which one is your favorite."
"What?"
"I like the bro-own one."
Jackson got a short cast yesterday which stays on for 3 more weeks. This one can get wet, so no more grocery bags at bath time and we can hit the fountain at Coolidge. I am not sure if this is the new or old X-ray.
Even though we haven't picked strawberries or ridden in a carriage downtown yet, we're having a great Willis family weekend!
So, this is how we spent last night:
Went to the ER with a buckle fracture right above the wrist and now Jackson has a cast for the month.
He seems fine with it, but I've never felt more empathy in my life. I'd rather break every bone in my body than him break one.

So I realize I haven't blogged much lately or posted pics of Jackson for our friends here and there, so here is a look back at Jackson's birthday and trips we took around then.
Here we are at the Mountain Maze on Signal when it was still hot. This is probably the longest slide either of us have been on at a playground. As cool as Playcore and other modern playgrounds are, there's something about a community-designed "woodie" that I love.
Time for a quick nap and a magazine..
Then down to the Georgia Aquarium in ATL.

85,000 fish in this one tank. Notice the Yellow Jack that swim around the whale shark's mouth. This place is very impressive!
Jackson at the Apple store in Lennox Square Mall.

Jackson and I made this very short music video tonight in about an hour with iMovie and Photo Booth.
Driving home the other day I had the following conversation with Jackson:
Daddy: Hey, look, that's Tom Griscom over there in that beamer.
Jackson: Oh.
Daddy: He runs the times free press.
Jackson: Why?
Daddy: Because he's the editor.
Jackson: Why?
Daddy: Because that's his job.
Jackson: Why?
Daddy: Because he's the editor.
Jackson: Why?
Daddy: Because that's his job?
Repeats 100 times.
That's how I learned the the 3-yr old feedback loop can go on literally forever.
So Jackson is 3 years old in like 2 weeks. Mind-blowing and depressing. I wish he could stay exactly like he is right now for a long time, but that probably wouldn't be healthy at all.
So, here are the latest pics:
Since I've been putting these off, here are Jackson pics from the last 4 months or so:
Jackson gardening.
This dog stayed on our street for a while and loved the slide. How we'll miss "white dog." Thanks to whoever picked her up and shame on whoever dropped her off!
Thomas came to town!
We went to Florida and visited the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa. Get a cheap membership to the Chattanooga Zoo, then enjoy other, pricier zoos for free. Splurge and ride a camel! Or feed a giraffe!
Fixing the deck..
So here is the only picture I've been able to rescue from my phone. Will evenutally hack this thing so I don't have to pay $0.25 per image to Verizon to get them..
Coming soon: vacation pictures, with Bella at the beach!
I'm not saying my son is hot, but he is certainly handsome. I mean come on, the cool guy shirt, the smile, the pose? This kid is going to be trouble with the ladies..
While we're on toys, these are the best..
Double Ferris Wheel
DId they have these when I was a kid? It says 1935, but I don't think I've ever touched them before now. Jackson likes them too.
As promised..
First, here are a couple from Dylan's birthday, one of Jackson's best friends.
Chuck E. Cheese's and a a ginger bread house!
Breakfast at Granny and Pawpaw's,
Thomas, James and Percy!
Kerry is going to kill me for posting these, but I think these Christmas morning pics are terrif!
Bob the Builder--In the Snow!
Moree Thomas!
Blocks!
Jackson's static electricity expiriment, I mean, blow-up castle.
Its been a great Holiday!
Well, for the Willis's it's been a pretty good year. Jackson has not been to the hospital for unexpected events, though he did have to go to the oral surgeon after a tooth-warping incident (they came back into place). Jackson went to Sea World and the beach, Daddy went to New Orleans. Jackson also had his big party at the zoo. Kerry cut her hair short and sent in to locks of love (or is going to send it in eventually). Other than that its just been another ordinary year.
Jackson loves noodles!
Preacher man:
Jackson and Dylan go to the park:
"Daddy, let's bounce!"
New winter coat..
Mommy: "Let's go see the Shamu in your closet!"
Jackson: "I must see it!"
At March of the Penguins last night:
"All the baby penguins have mommies.."
In the car:
"Daddy, don't sing Daddy, no, no, don't sing.."
This is Jackson and his best friend Dylan at the first annual Triple-C Rodeo and Roundup (Kerry's idea..)
Basically you bring your child's wheeled conveyances to the church parking lot and they ride around in circles.
And color..
Kerry's chuckwagon..
Kerry's big ol' belt buckle, though I was the one lassoin' people.
Jackson's other best friend Hayden (as Dash).
Trick or treatin' the EASY way.
Forgot to take the camera to Trunk or Treat, but everybody was just as cute. 3 nights of crazy seasonal fun.
Not sure what the deal is exactly, but Jackson has been seen cavorting around with this young woman recently.
"Just what kind of life can you provide for my son?"
Better late than never..
I'll caption these soon.
I don't know, he seems normal in other ways. You tell me?
Newer photos are forthcoming, but since i have this online and ready, here are some Jackson pics from the summer.

Dinner at the Willis':
Despite my implied girth (the tank top was hanging down), I wanted to share this picture to show Jackson and Daddy's favorite thing, bicycling. Pulling the hill on Browntown Rd is a little harder with 30lbs behind you, but he really seems to like it and the rides are still short, but getting longer and longer..
Several weeks old pictures:

Ducks, that look suspiciously like Donald Duck..
"Yaw!"
"Train!"
"Water!"
"Splash!"
Besides our weekly outings to Big Lots (I provided a link in case you live on one of the mountains in Chattanooga and are unfamiliar with the store, just plug in a ZIP and find one that isn't near you..) and being incredible hagglers when buying a car--mostly Kerry; we are now getting into the yard sale scene. This weekend we went to the Morrison, TN city-wide yard sale where we hawked Jackson's outgrown clothes (can't have anymore now..) and toys for a sweet sum of over $100.
This gave me the burning hole in pocket feeling and came really close to buying Jackson a new RC truck, but missed out. We did however come home with the following:
1 - Elmo Jet Ski - $0.25
Winds by hand, has wheels and a propeller, slips on wet surfaces.
1 - Kids Musical Fun Keyboard - $1
No batteries, but works great and has mic input which implies future karaoke craziness.
And what I am most excited about,
A Bentley BX-720 Super8 film camera, loaded with Ektachrome 160 film stock, and 4 AAs (3 working) - $1.
Super8 film is most notably seen in the show Globetrekker--a Willis family favorite. Its used during the intro and in segueys and interludes during the show. Since I got the Globetrekker soundtrack for Xmas, I plan to edit some footage from it, possibly into my short I'm working on this summer or maybe if we take some great trip this year (will have to be more than Dollywood). So, look for Jackson in a safari hat and listen for the didjeradoo on some upcoming posts.
For more info about Big Lots, including, Who shops at Big Lots, well just follow the links.
Getting good at this photoshop thing..
Any suggestions?
Here are Jackson's first school pictures:
What a great poser..
In other news, here are a couple new pics of Jackson,
geared up for I don't know what.
Jackson and Mommy on our steep driveway,
and a picture Jackson took of me.
