A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Bank

As I was driving to work this morning, I noticed two police cars flying past me in the opposite direction, lights flashing, sirens blaring. Then, another detective car pulled out in front of me, drove less than a quarter of a mile, stopped in the middle of the service road we were on, two officers jumped out of the car, climbed on top of the car, jumped over the fence, and ran (dodging traffic) across I-20 and into a neighborhood on the southside of the interstate. It was a strange way to start the morning.

I was very disappointed that Enoch's did not serve green beer last night. Not that green beer is good (last year it was Coor's light), but it was St. Patrick's Day and I wanted a green beer! I had a fun time with all the co-workers, despite the lack of green beer. The weather was perfect for sitting out on the porch. I'm loving spring.

In case you don't know, oatmeal is the perfect breakfast food. I don't know why it took me so long to realize it, but I've been having it lately and it really makes for happier mornings. It still doesn't make up for the fact that I'm not a morning person, but it helps.

I waved at you driving past Enochs, alas, you were too consumed with your other friends.

I totally wanted green beer too, man, Enochs is slipping.

Oatmeal stout for breakfast is probably more hardy.

I also hate having to put my email address and URL just to say something.

I LOVE oatmeal for b'fast!!! Especially with fresh strawberries on it this time of year.

One cannot go wrong having oatmeal as the first meal of the day. I think Wilford Brimley got me started on it. What was his tag line? "It's a great way to start your day", or "It's good thing" or something?

Remy - I saw you drive by the other night, but I didn't realize it was you until it was too late to wave.
Andy - I think Wilford Brimley's line was "the best part of waking up is oatmeal in your cup" - or something like that.

And for the record Remy, Andy is the only person besides you who actually listens to Godspeed You Black Emperor.

I'll disable the e-mail address requirement. Never say I didn't do anything for you.

As my dad says, oatmeal sticks to your ribs. Kind of like a "gut-bomb," another phrase coined at my parents' house.

Actually, Christin, I believe it was Foldgers coffee who coined the phrase "The best part of waking up is Foldgers in your cup!!" (must be sung). And what's this about Godspeed? They are great! Did you see *28 Days Later*? They did most of that score.

I know it was the Folgers ad. I was making a lame attempt at a joke since you used Martha Stewart's "it's a good thing."

No, I didn't see 28 Days Later - I just noticed on your blog that you were listening to Godspeed and it reminded me of a few years ago when Remy got their album and was so pleased with it.

Sorry about not getting your obvious joke, Christin. You'll have to forgive me; I'm a little solw. I mean slow.
