*Why is that Oxiclean guy always yelling?
*How come I can tell someone they're ugly and they take it as an insult but if I tell them they're being ugly, they take it as a reprimand? (applies to southerners only)
*What's the deal with Michael Jackson?
*Who am I more sick of hearing about: Howard Dean or John Kerry?
*Who else is ready for the summer Olympics? (I'm not ready for them in the sense that I've been training for years and now I'm ready to win a medal. I'm just ready to watch them.)
Posted by christin at January 28, 2004 10:05 AM | TrackBackI, Christin, am so very ready for the summer Olympics. And when I say that, I mean that I'm ready for them in the sense that I've been training for years and now I'm ready to win a medal. American gymnists, watch out.
Ready for the Olympics...when does the synchronized swimming start?...

• Because being connotes a temporary or mutable state whereas are connotes an ontological fact. Like the difference between estar and ser. If something is merely in a state of being, then that state is far more likely to be affected by the actions of the individual. Therefore, if someone is being ugly, they need only alter their behavior to stop being ugly. However, if someone is ugly, they're really up Poop Creek, Alabama with nary a paddle in sight - and you're just being mean-spirited to have pointed out their misfortune.
• Buy one, get one free.
• Howard the Duck?
• Is watching the Olympics really something you need to be prepared or ready for?
Posted by: The Dane at January 28, 2004 03:43 PM*You must not watch TV.
*Point taken.
*That's a bargain. Maybe I will get one after all.
*I'm sorry. The answer we were looking for was "screamin' Dean."
*I might need to buy some popcorn.
Posted by: Christin at January 28, 2004 05:09 PMYeah, while I have a set (for dvds), I don't have cable and where I live, if you don't have cable you don't get to watch tv.
Posted by: The Dane at January 28, 2004 05:55 PMI just saw the oxiclean commercial the other day, and you're right! He's screaming his head off about it! I was so intimidated, I went out immedietely and bought some.
