You might find this hard to believe, but the votes are in and the worst rock group ever is....
I say whoever is responsible for that song they play at Halloween, "She Blinded Me With Science," should at least get honorable mention.
have you ever heard any of ICP's stuff? its awful and thus not hard to believe at all.
Posted by: dp at August 15, 2003 09:38 AMThats Sir Thomas Dolby your dissing Christin. I'm not sure how he became a 'Sir', but I bet it had something to do with science. I hadn't noticed that they play that song at Halloween though. Whats the connection?
Posted by: Patrick at August 15, 2003 09:48 AMYeah, I was being sarcastic about the ICP. Of course, I don't disagree that they're awful.
Once again, the power of sarcasm is lost in the blog.
And Patrick, I don't know what the deal is with that song and Halloween. I didn't notice the connection in Monroe...I think it's a Moscow thing...as soon as October starts, the DJs play that thing like it's the best song ever.
Posted by: Christin at August 15, 2003 10:44 AMthats the thing i hate about the written word on the net. since there is no inflection in the typage, you often lose the humour and/or sarcasm that is meant by a blog or an instant message. and i dont know what song youre talking about, but dude, youre talking about idaho. talk about backwards.
Posted by: dp at August 15, 2003 12:23 PMFirst of all, the Insane Clown Posse is not a "Rock" group... second of all, they totally rock. I don't know what's wrong with these people. The worst rock group is obviously being played on the radio. ICP is too cool to get air.
i will grant some funny lines and "worst" is certainly a term to be debated because of its subjective nature, but they certainly can be considered rock and have been by major magazines and reviewers. and they dont get radio play because they suck. when they first came out and when they had their beef with eminem they got some airplay, but then the stations and their listeners realized that they could certainly rank among the worst groups in any genre ever and consequently ceased spinning their tunes.

This is easier to avoid on IM than on blogs, since on IM you can use smileys and "*wink*" and "*grin*" and that sort of thing. The problem is that if you write like that on a blog you look like an illiterate idiot. I know...I've seen blogs where people actually write using emoticons.
Posted by: Pieter Friedrich at August 16, 2003 02:00 PMyeah youve done it several times and it needs to stop like now. no more winking and no more grinning. id rather have to have the humour/sarcasm explained to me or miss it altogether.
